well i just got a new graphics card and RAM and off course they run hot ass hell and they start to lag up my game if i play any longer than 30 mins so could you guys give me some tips on how to kool it down and maybe some tips of Fans to buy.
Graph card cooling is so often poo, and I've had the misfortune to have an Asus, where changing the fan would be a pain (yet very possible). When the chip cooling fan is "pointing" down, and the whole Pcie/agp card is sized so that all the hot air produced by the chip, stays there..
I myself have extra cooling with a fan attached below the HDD bays. It is positioned to blow cool air from the front down and back to where the graph card lies. I've gotten the temperature down with 5-7 centigrade, just by moving cooler air in for the gpu-fan to pick up.

I need around tree fiddy.
First thing to do(if you haven't already) is to replace the stock thermal paste on the video card fan with some Arctic Silver 5. Then add a fan to the side panel of your case to get cool air blowing directly to your video card.
i have it ghetto style right now i just took off the cover and have my fan on high blowing on it, so far its actaully working really good haha but its really annoying so some help here guys?
ghetto style owns.
What new hardware did you get? To fix the GPU overheating, get this: http://xoxide.com/zalman-vf900-cu-led-cooler.htmlFubarJonny wrote:

Best performance-cost ratio without watercooling EASY. Plus it has some blue LED's and come's with RAMsinks for your card as well. Easy install, as well.
And never do that with the fan...
SeeAs for the fan...having a big desk fan like that very close to your case is bad. There's a big electromagnetic field spinning around that sucker ...not good for your rig.
Post specs and I can help you better . Or just take it to PM.

Personally I'm using the Ghetto method since I can't mix powertools and Lortabs... yet.
But aside from what has already been mentioned is the "blowhole" fan. Many tutorials are available on it, and since heat rises having a fan on the top panel of your case can help get that excess hot air out of your box.

no side cover

home made 3 pin fan to molex adaptor

getto style cooling on the end of gfx card. keeps both gfx (especially power regulators) and NB cool

jury rigged fan blowing at power regulators

kinda hard to see but rigged fan to bottom of TT big typhoon for better cooling

to the actual question: i agree a vf-900 would do the job nicely together with a side panel fan
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
For better cooling of my video card i cut a blow hole in the side of the case right over the video card and mounted an 80mm fan on the inside and funky bat man grill cover. Keeps the card nice and cool. To keep the whole computer cool I mounted two 80mm fans in the rear and two 80mm in the front (one blowing over the three hard drives) and bought a fan bus and mounted that in an unused CD slot. Looks pretty sweet and i can crank it when playing some intense BF2.
I recently had my PSU kick the bucket. Before throwing the dead unit in the trash I salvaged the two fans, one 92mm and 1 80 from it. I put the 92 in the front, blowing in and now my case rarely goes 1°C above room temp! I had no room for the 80mm, so I cut the fan out of it and used the frame to create a riser to get my side case fan closer to my video card. That cut the load temps down by about 5°C and the better flow over the ramsinks got me an extra 15Mhz memory overclock!
my card is and Radeon x800GTO and are there any fans the i could attach to cards to cool it down, my x800 has a fan on the side but it sucks really bad.
Verax makes almost the best fans. Designed like a jet fan, they are very, very silent and move high volumes of air. They have different fans, also for cases, GPU's and CPU's.

That would work with your card, and is definately worth the price. If you wanna save a few bucks get the non-LED version.

Newegg carries them too, along with a lot of other sites. Its an easy install, and comes with ramsinks. That will definately solve your problem.
yea some of my freinds told me i should get that. thanks for the input i think i just might get it.[BBF*EF]Stuka wrote:

One simple thing a lot of people overlook (and its FREE) is to take some time rerouting the mess of wires/cables in the case. It really does make more difference than you would think towards increasing the airflow through the case.
has it helped you out alot or just a little?ShotYourSix wrote:

Well it's not gonna make any drastic changes, but every little bit helps.
