bf2 is the 3rd bf game so it's modern
I did not vote, but I would say modern, but not like BF2 as you state in your poll. BF2 is semi modern. Some weapons and classes are modern, others are cold war era. I would like Modern (current events) for BF3.
We never even had a BF1 lol

I do not understand why everyone is saying all these other era's. Isn't there plenty of WWII, Vietnam, Star Wars/Futuristic, and there is even some WWI flying games. Yet there are very few "good" modern war games. I do not mean games where they add weapons that are not in use, I mean games where there is large scale combat, like in BF2.
I want to play a BF2 in WW2, but WW2 has been over done and they're still making games in that time period. I said Modern. They need to have like BF2:USA, where the US is attacked and we have to defend NYC and Chicago and stuff like that. So, I voted Modern. BF2142 might be good, but I'm not sure I want to buy it.
Joint Ops was set in modern times I believe. The demo for it rocked.. retail sucked tho heh.. weird. I loved doing mortar attacks.
I loved that game, and it did the best job of balancing the classes. They didn't have modern tanks and cold war anti-tank weapons like BF2. They had the best balance I have yet to see.No_Smoking wrote:

I would like to see 2042 not to far in the future to be another mech game but incorporate everything that is in the works right now i.e. the predetor technology, metal storm weapons, stealth planes, mini heat vision etc etc
