Nvidia or Ati video cards, which one is your fav.

Well, this discussion is older than my grandma and all other threads have been hijacked to often because of diffrent opinions about whats better and whats not.

So please post all your thoughts, experience, favourites and other stuff related with those two brands in here! Including outcoming series, advantages/disadvantages blah blah!

Let the battle begin!!!

I voted Nvidia, because since I bought my 3dfx card a long long time in a galaxy far far away I use cards of this brand and none of the Ati cards ever meet my expections.

Atm I use: Geforce 7900GTX 512MB in SLI, Geforce GX7950 in fake QuadSLi, Geforce 7800GS 256MB AGP and FX5950Ultra 256MB.

The new Radeon cards like X1900XTX got pretty good benches, but I´ve compared them by myself with the Nvidia par, and cant figure out many diffrences.

Also I think the ATI-drivers a crap.

I currently own 6800ultra, but the X1900XTX is best of best.
No fair to compare against 7950GX2 cause thats 2 in one.

Or get a Tyan server mobo and put Quad X1900XTX, thats fast:P

In my PC career i got a lot of NVidia Cards like GF2 Ultra, GF3 etc.

But last year i've bought an ATI X800XL. The performance was ok, but more and more drivers problems occured over the time.

Therefore i bought a NVidia 7900GT and it's a really good card. The performance/price ratio is one of the best right now. But even NVidia seems to have issues with their drivers and this is kinda disappointing.

I voted for "Im not shure about it, I like both" - because regarding performance both are nearly equal with one manufacturer having more features over the other.

I'm just happy that both companies are doing well and financially sound. If either one ceased to exist tomorrow, the GPU market would soon become stagnant and lose the constant innovation we have taken for granted. This heated competition between ATI/Nvidia is the very reason why we have such amazing cards to choose from.......next time you are bagging on the other brand name, take a moment to remember this.

nope it isnt. A single X1900XTX (non oc) sees no land against a single 7900GTX (non oc). I´ve tested X1900XTX of the brands saphire, Club3D, Asus and Gigabyte, compared to a MSI, ASUS or Leadtek 7900GTX those cards arent faster in high resolutions like 1600x1200. Well the quality is a little better, thats true, but faster are the Geforces... Even in high AA/AF settings.

Oh really? Where have you been? Both cards win in certain games, but the ATI sees no land against the 7900gtx?

Most famous tech site? All it gives me is an error. Also, your link says 7900gtx, and the x1800gto, funny but that's a generation behind. Besides, anandtech, and toms hardware are the 2 most popular.

Its tomshardware man, THG, huh? What should these stand for? Tomsharrockguide or what?! Come on. Look the imgs in my post and you´ll see its compared GF7900GTX with X1900, even in SLI and crossfire.

To finish this useless argument: All I can say, I´ve tested the X1900XT and XTX cards in my rigs (3 of them), and compared them with the Geforce 7900GTX and 7950GX... My result, my personal result, was: GF ownz X!

if you prefer Ati, thats your good right and I´m fine with it, I dont want to hang myself on the next tree because you dont share my opinion.

problem there is you only posted the one's where the 7900gtx won but some how couldn't see the one's where the x1900xt wins, funny isn't it

slayer - be fair enough and even post the other Benchmarks where ATI Crossfire is on top. Picking only the results where NVidia is in the lead, is a bit biased.

As mentioned before, ATI & NVidia's top of the line are nearly equal. One manufacturer claims the best for one engine, but hasn't got a chance in an other game engine. ATI & NVidia both build really good cards.
