Rhandomly but frequently have to unplug and plug back in my joystick because the x-axis dips way foward!

Basically i'll hope in a chopper or plane and it goes STRAIGHT down!!!

So I press alt-tab, go to properties in my game controls and test, i unpug and plug back in the joystick and it usually works after a couple of tries!

Why do i have to keep doing this?  I reinstalled my drivers BTW!

grammar...does the actual stick dip forward?  Or does the plane/chopper dip forward.  If it's the stick that's dipping forward, then that would be a manufacturer error, in which case you should go turn it in and a get a new joystick.

Known issue.  I have the infamous left/right roll calibration issue.  This is the one most people noted, where they would be flying and the plane/heli would roll left or right when the stick was left in the centered position, causing them to have to hold the stick to one side to keep from crashing.

I've mentioned it several times here, and I guarantee you that if you Google for this problem, and check the Logitech tech forums, you will also find a large number of lost calibration complaints.

I usually have to re-calibrate my stick each time I boot the computer and plan on using it.  Don't just unplug it and plug it back in, go into the controllers utility in Control Panel and run the calibration.

This is exactly why I don't recommend this joystick when people ask for recommendations.

Open the Game Controllers utility in Control Panel.  Your joystick will be listed in the box.  Click on Properties and you will get a box with a couple of tabs.  I'm not in front of my computer right now, so I can't get into that screen now, and I don't remember what it says on the tabs, but if you read what's there, you will see how to run the calibration.

The wizard itself starts out by asking you to click any button on the joystick, then you run through the remaining calibration where it will have you move the twist function of the handle and the throttle slider, as well as a box with a + in where you move the stick in complete circles to find the full range of motion.  Once that is done you should be good to go, but be prepared to have to do this often.
