As for the person whining that Chopper pilots cant get kills/Points.....  Last time I checked all the attack choppers had a whole bunch of missles that can be fired by the pilot....  Correct me if I'm wrong there..  Seems to me that you can rack up plenty of kills with those.
I don't mean to be rude but I was far from whining. I was replying to a whine that pilots get WAY too many points. They have missiles but that's not what they should be used for. A good pilot manuevers for his gunner, who has the clear firepower advantage. They are dumbfire with little splash damage and should never be used IMO. You shoul never have your chopper close enough to a target where rockets have signifigant impact. If you're that close, you're just welcoming AT rockets or a tank round up your tailpipe.

I assumed people would figure out that " assholes using the chopper to GAIN BILLIONS OF POINTS." in a thread about soloing and TV switching to not be generalizing at all.

At least you don't have a huge sig, but you're flame-fu is weak.

solo flying is just perfect when there isn't an team mate in the whole server who can use the gunner position properly!

I don't flame

Well, if you wanted me to understand you- you could have put "an a-hole" or solo a-hole or team-denying a-hole or something... I read it as 2 chopper pilots.

Well to that extent I somewhat agree, and somewhat don't. There is a line which divides morals and effeciency. Most solo pilots don't even recognize the morals side, however, some like me, always let a gunner in.

I just make laught when I see someone says..."I do the solo thing because I have bad gunners"

How can you be a bad gunner, as you can see my time in a helo is very limited, but the few time I was a gunner...it's pretty simple, point and shoot. It's the safest position, point and shoot that's it. You only have to pray you pilot is good (but there's only pilot in this thread, isn't it)

What also makes me laught is a guy saying "I'm a great gunner", again nothing great about being carried around and only have to point and shoot

Long story short...  I feel Soloing is an Exploit of game mechanics.....  It should NOT be posible to switch seats ina chopper while it is in flight...  I agree with the admins decision to prohibit it on his server.
Agreed on both points. Not so much of being an exploit of game mechanics, just that it looks really fucking stupid. Kind of like prone spamming. For the solo pilot, i just feel it's the cowardly way out. I generally don't like attacking someone with no risk, it's just not as exciting.

I think the same....The pilot's job is to manuevers the chopper so the GUNNER can kill the enemy....and the point them to shoot the tv....

In other cases, when i have a pilot, he always ends up shooting his rockets and he gets no where with it....i know it might sound stupid but it takes some practice to be on target with the rockets, especially one rocket on a infantry...

And nothing annoys me more when u spot a vehcile over and over and the pilot goes STRAIGHT past it!! and then u have to guild the tv-missile yourself!!!

Thats why i solo, unless i have a good pilot!!!!!!!!!!

We're on the same brainwave

Most pilots want points for themselves and try to use rockets... they don't care what the gunner is doing, or that he's spotting the helicopter that's about to crush you with a TV missile. They got in the chopper and by golly they want points so they resort to trying to kill stuff themselves, or just hovering by a populated base and wanting the gunner to rape the crap out of it. 15 seconds later they get a TV missile to their tail and they're wondering wtf happened....

Then the gunners, that don't care about harmful targets, they just want to rape infantry until they die, or shoot their machine gun at tanks. It sickens me.

Pretty soon though my mate is getting a new rig and he's buying bf2. It will be nice to have a decent co-pilot.....

Sorry, not everyone sucks with rockets. I swear by them and i do pretty good

Anyway, i'd rather be downed by a skilled AT/Tank shot any day of the week over some newb sitting in a stinger/AA tank.

Believe it or not, if you gave a potential gunner half a chance of using the gun or TVmissile without being teamkilled, he might actually turn out to be good. ZOMG, someone as l33t as j00?! no wai!!!1

I don't recall ever saying that everyone sucks with rockets. That anyone sucks with rockets. The majority of the noobs "lolz lets try teh chopper 2nite on teh 64 player lolz!" can't use them effeciently enough to kill a sitting tank.

Yes, Prima, I know you're an awesome pilot (no sarcasm... really just look at the sig) and if you're good enough to get in that close, use rockets and still give your gunner- gunning potential (Im assuming you're in with a gunner), and get out safely, more power to ya. I'm speaking to the more... mediocre pilots.

Yeah, so I tv gun solo all the time. Its the only real fun I've been having lately. I sucked as a pilot at first, until I realized I had to set my sensitivities to max to be able to control the thing, and now I can run pretty well. I've got a setup for quick switches, but if there's someone that wants to gun, he guns. If he's a horrible gunner or if he's a horrible pilot, I leave him.

I've been stuck numerous time with pilots that cap flags and, not listening to my warnings, get us shot down by a tank. It pisses me off. I tell them they shouldn't fly. They try to gun and shoot only the MG? I tell them to groundpound. Of course, I'm not "telling" them they have to do something, but I suggest it and they usually do it. If you cannot help when you're in a pilot/gunner seat, you need to get in a tank or something. Its as simple as that. Not doing so intentionally ruins your teams chances at any type of comeback or defense.

Didn't mean to come off as hostile, just wish people would promote killing with rockets more and solo-tving less

Play with Skruples, hes a damn good rocketeer. Sad tho, in all my time playing bf2 i've only seen 3 good rocketeers

I whine a lot about this but i just dont like the fact that you can do really good in a chopper with very little flight skill

If you suck at flying jets you will not get any kills, it should be the same for choppers, imo.

for one, forcing your will upon others like that on a public server is selfish and unsportsmanlike. The other guy paid the same for the game as you and has the same right to the vehicle / gunner position, wether he is a capable gunner or not. If you convince the rest of your team through your solo skills, that they'd be best off with you flying without a gunner, that's fine, but I doubt you'll find many public servers with a lack of people wanting to gun.

Taking of solo with 10 guys screaming for a ride is unacceptable IMHO and should be punished.

I agree that good pilots / gunners are hard to come by, but how is that supposed to change when the capable ones don't give the rookies a chance to learn from them and improve ?

If I remember correctly, the RoE only prohibit server rules about vehicle limitations, they say nothing about behaviour of individuals as far as vehicle use is concerned.
Nevertheless, privately owned servers can have any sort of rule they want. If you don't like these rules, go play somewhere else.
