ok so i dont have much money(about 140$ canaidan thats all i can spare 4 this upgrade) so i was looking for some cheap but good quality power supplys to run my new x1600 card and i read that this 1 powersupply has connectors for all pci-e cards. so do i need a specific power supply if i have an agp card???

you just need one with a peripheral (all have em) power connector, with my AGP its a small connector, the card came with the adapter... theres not special PSU for AGP cards, its just because PCIe cards need a 12v connector thingy


ill look for a good cheap PSU, or you can yourself,,,,      newegg.com            if you have multiple things hooked up in your comp look for one with 350+ watts and more than 20amps on the +12v rail, and at least six "peripheral" connectors. my current has 16amps and 480 watts, I dunno if its powering my x1600PRO enough but its working.....  for 140$ canadian you can get a nice PSU, mine only cost 20$ lol, but for 50$ US you can get a reliable PSU (get an antec)

In my experience, there is no such thing as a good, cheap power supply. You get what you pay for when it comes to PSUs, if you buy a cheap one you can expect bad quality. That is just my opinion, however, others may have had different experiences.

I'm also closing this, please keep your power supply queries contained to one thread.
