My question is where do they get the ammo to keep on shooting at people for that long? Or do they pick up the kits of enemies they've killed near where they are inside wotever it is they're in?

It's a glitch in the game. I found out because I fell down there when trying to climb the container. Then I was standing in the container able to look and shoot out but nobody could see me or shoot me. Even flash bangs didn't seem to affect me.
what did you fall down?

they probaby ahve a mate paly9ing support nearby, giving them ammo. either that,or aco=-operative commander droipping supply crates. wouldn't C4 deal with them?

I thought they fixed that last time I tested it on an empty server it didn't work and made you instantly die.

I thought it was for real cause after i left the OBC server lastnight it switched to nightflight...assumed this pic was from that ^_^
