That's the game if you are only having experienced snipers,some of them never check the obvious spots because they would never think that a skilled sniper is "stupid" enough to hide in these spots.
Sometimes this really works well,but then again some noob could ruin your plan by accident.

I have my certain locations on each map,with some spot-variations,but I avoid the Sharqi crane,there are so many other great spots around that area and the crane can be hit from all of them.

There's a really cool little sniper spot on the Mass Destruction map near the Cooling Tower control point. You need a zip line to get to it from a high point, but once you are there.... nearly invisible (it's dark) and have complete view of the flag, the opposite ridge (Train Yard), and most player spawns. Plus, there's overhead cover to limit heli visibility and a map boundary to your rear to prohibit sneak attacks.

Experiment. You'll find it!

That's just purely an example, but the basic principle is the same.

You don't need a wide arching overview of an area, if all the enemy troops do is go along primarily the same path then there is little point in exposing yourself to fire just to get a better field of view.

This is why sniping from roofs and cranes is so bad, the movement will give you away and you're fodder for other snipers.

The bunker you are aiming at has some kind of metal vent or something on its roof.
I've been seeing more and more snipers hiding behind that thing when the US got the beach.
Could be considered as a quite unfair place,there's only a small space where you can shoot through when shooting from the south base,although if you shoot through it it's in 99% a headshot.

Wake has a ton of great spots but I'm not gonna tell them,if you play the map for some time you'll know where to hang out.

The Top of the Building by the "Square" in Karkand... Can pop your head out every now and then and get shots off in the guys heads running towards you. Also you get a clean view of the stairs and the other sniping building across the map.

Real snipers work with a good squad not sitting there killing.

I worked with real teamswork squads. I weakened enemy or finished them off. Scout the area and secure.

Sitting there sniping will only get you killed by the guy yoiu just killed.

I got my highest kill steak 45 sniping in a good squad, with TEAMWORK

Not only can you shoot someone in the knee or whatever when they graphically glitch a few pixels through the platform, but the panels that people are on when they're up on a crane are only little bits of thin sheet metal.

Sooo.... Whip out your M95 and shoot him right through the thing he's lying on. Fantastic for those times when the shot is hard to line up, or he won't stick his head over the edge like a considerate camper. the .50cal round treats sheet metal just as it does bullet-proof glass: it ignores it Also useful to remember when someones hiding behind a metal fence.

Happened to me a few times one round on Warlord in the tall grass near the street between the Mosque and Tv Station. I personally think that spot is better than sniping from bell tower when your team is making a push againts the Station.

It's also a great way to tell if you have any sniper competition. If you're racking up kills on the crane, might as well stay there since no one seems to notice. Also the leg sticking through the wall thing happends when you go prone on the Construction Site flag. And the best way to defend that flag...... is from the crane.

I know pretty much all spots there are from playing with all these guys, I can say that the hardest to hit is the south bunker on the main island on wake, i wasted about 3 rounds on mr. evilmonkey into that shithole, but he didn't get me which is a kinda godsent i manged to get mr. ss from his arty perch last night muaha

I almost always change location. The so called 'good' places are probably the expected ones, so it's best to switch location every time you are spotted.
