Don't get the 512MB edition, get the 256MB version, the card doesn't use 512MB, and only causes clustering of the files and textures.

Other than that its a great "buget" card, won't run battlefield all on high but it'll sure run fine on medium.

That's a question I'd be very interested to hear the answer to. What do you mean by cheap?

7800 GS is the fastest sub $300 AGP card out.  That'd be the one you want.

X800 GTO for $150 on Newegg.  That should be able to max out BF2 without any Antialiasing or Ansiotropic filtering at least.

Either this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814161172

or, this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814142073

although the second looks to have the better cooling.

Same for BFG 6600 OC 512 mB and is less than 200.00.

edit: sorry that is PCI-E card not sure about an AGP card

I feel you.  I paid $600 for the X850 XT PE when it was first released.  I just sold it a couple months ago for $250 and got a new X1900XTX in it's place, hah.

Yes, BF2 runs SO much smoother with 2GB of RAM.  Especially while flying anything.  You can get another gig of Corsair DDR400 PC3200 Value RAM for under $100 on Newegg now.  You can get that with the money you saved buying the X800 GTO.

What he said, depends on what you got at the moment though. You might want to download CPU-Z and query your RAM, then you'll know what you've got and what you need to add to it.

Until we know that, no way to tell you how much it'll cost.
