Thanks Neo for the Karma. I'm for the NAA simply because the USA couln't fight against 4 other regional superpowers unless it had some allies. If it was a free for all, Cananda and Mexico better join the US.
How about a spin on today’s geopolitical situation, but in the future. We all know about North Korea and Iran. North Korea launchers more missiles and a few land in Japan and Russia, but hit cities and accidentally kill a few civilians. Russia, the US, and Japan deliver air strikes on the known launching pads. China is furious, as well as North Korea. North Korea declares war on Russia, Japan, and the US. North Korea now starts firing missiles with ballistic warheads (not nuclear) on Japan, Russia, and on the US. The bombing raids become more intensive, and soon they are bombing factories, but result in collateral damage. China intercepts enemy aircraft bombing North Korea. Russia, Japan, and the US have considered this an act of war. It simply escalates from here.
I guess Russia would be allies with the NAA, and the EU would be outraged at Russia, AU, and the NAA. The EU would be enemies with Russia, NAA, and allies with the MEC, and AU.
Edit: If subclasses were to be involved, I'd like to see this concept. The ability to make a team class (Medic, Support, Engineer) more combat oriented, mixed, or team oriented. If you want more combat orientation, you get additional firepower (more ammo, a better weapon, more grenades, a mix of things) but you would heal and revive your team mates slower. And visa versa with team orientation. The mix is by default, and is a balance of both. I guess you could change the role of the anti-tank, assault, sniper, and spec op class also. AT could be AT, or AA. The sniper could have the guile suit, or be more of a recon unit, with a semi-auto rifle that is accurate and more capable at closer engagements. Dunno...
I don't think paratroopers should be there own class though, unless you somehow made the assault class have a paratrooper sub-class. If not, then paratroopers spawning from planes should simply just look different.
