What do you guys think I should get?
I have a Pcie and want to get either a 7600gt or a 7900gt. Do you guys think I should get one of them or should I go to ATI rather than Nvidia. The ATI x1800 series looks good,but what about the lower versions of the x1900. Should I also consider a x850 cause it is a good card, but is getting older than the x1***series....

In the clan I'm in we have players with ATI and Nvidia.
Most of the guys get say they have had better performances from the Nvidia cards.

On that note a 7900 is much better than a 7600. If you can afford it go for the 7900gtx.

The X1800XT is a great card for the money, and faster than the 7900GT in BF2; each card has games where it does better than the other, but BF2 is still faster on ATi cards.

If you are looking to newer series, I would say the X1900XT or equivalent NV card. ATi has a good lineup at the top for their top couple of cards, but they don't seem to do so well with leveling their performance below that. The performance drop is too drastic, cost as much as the NV counterpart, and usually get outperformed in that range.

That depends on what resolution you will be using, and what you consider "high" settings.

If you get a 7900GTX, you can run 1600x1200 with all settings high and 4xAA, and get 50+ frames per second.
I have two clan mates that run these settings.

I have a 6800GT and run 1280x1024, all high, 4xAA and get 50+ FPS
