Lol shit i have no idea which option to vote cos i use Mouse & Keyboard for Helicopters, Keyboard-only for Jets. ><
Edit: Voted for keyboard-only cos of the apparent lack of love for the keyboard.

^5 ig88.. +1 for you and all the keyboard-only fliers!

Joystick for me. Too used to it from playing flight sims.

True. Because isnt the left/right arrow keys for the yaw?jord wrote:
How do you pitch and pull off rolls with just a keyboard?
S: airbrake
A: yaw left
D: yaw right
Up arrow: pitch down
Down arrow: pitch up
Left arrow: bank left
Right arrow: bank right
Spacebar: cannon
Keypad 0: A2A missiles/bombs
Joystick...i've tried keyboard and its just to much to deal with when you can buy a descent joystick for 20 bucks
Helo and plane
My helo is only about 1 to 1 because i don't go for many kills in the helo i mainly let me gunner handle it.
plane is 3.3228

keyboard / mouse only.
Infact one of my mates is so (old english) flabbergasted on how good i am in jet he insists i use a joystick, but i ensured him i use mouse. I think wireless, laser mouses have good and bad things for jets and choppers. But... i wont go into that

how do u barrel roll?
With a keyboard, press either your left or right arrow button.Colfax wrote:

With a joystick, move the stick left or right.
With the mouse, move it left or right.
Mouse and Keyboard
Thats not a barrel roll that would be a Aileron roll.

On joystick it's back diagnals left or right. Which would be pitch up and and left or right

On keyboard-only:
Barrel roll = W + A/D (optional) + Down arrow + Left/Right arrow
Aileron roll = W + Left/Right arrow
Barrel roll = W + A/D (optional) + Down arrow + Left/Right arrow
Aileron roll = W + Left/Right arrow
Keyboard + mouse
Keyboard + Mouse + Ego.
Keyboard only with jets and choppers. I have never understood how someone can fly with keyboard and mouse.
I voted other, as in I stay my ass out of anything that's designed to leave the ground.
Remember the thread about typing "Jalalabad" with your elbows? That's me flying!

I guess Joystick
Holy shit, is that an original MS Sidewinder?
Yeah, it is - and I absolutley love it!DoctorFruitloop wrote:

The only problem is it squeaks. Whatever.
Edit: And oh, the bottom 4 buttons are a bit... odd. They activate themself sometimes. But I only use them for Cockpit view anyway, so that is no big problem.
Besides that, it's fcking good quality.

Heli pilot - keyboard only.
Heli gunner - keyboard + mouse.
Absolutely! For all of you who tried keyboard only and it sucked, it's because there are very few combinations that will work. I had to rearrange the keys for the whole game (not just jets). I tried about 5 different setups before I settled on almost exactly this config. , and finally my K in a jet is rising fast. (By the way k30dxedle - try putting the missiles / bombs on the left control, thumb instead of little finger, but I guess you have something else there already).
For whoever asked how you manage the fine aim (like gunning AA sites), you're right, the fine aim is not quite smooth as it could be, but the splash damage range on the cannon is big enough that it doesn't seem to matter - they still die as long as you hit anywhere near them.
As for dogfighting, Keyboard only NEVER runs out of room, and can do anything a joystick can.
I won't say anything about heli's because I am a magnet for AA / AT / jets / FAV's / even damn sniper's manage to hit me when I'm upside down at full speed.
keyboard only both , but last time I flyed jet maybe in November , joystick is "musthave" for planes .
Keyboard and Mouse.
I actually had a guy today "accuse me", if thats the words to use of using a joystick.
Dont know of that is a good thing or a bad thing though.
