All this "conroe will kill your AMD" garbage has me thinking.  While I've never disliked Intel, I've been very happy with my last few AMD/Nvidia combos.  I'm not trying to brag, but my opteron system seems to get me into the game before anyone else 90% of the time or more.  It's gotten strange with the 1.3 patch, and now the 1.4 patch and sometimes I'm screwing around and don't notice when it's ready, but when I'm paying attention there's only been a few times when the system seems to lag an extra 10 or 15 seconds and I'm not first.
Being the first into the game I have noticed that after I pop in usually there's 1 to 3 others that pop in 2 to 5 seconds behind me.  After that there's a big wave of people usually about 30 seconds later.  Then there's all the guys still running 1Gb of ram that pop in about 60 seconds or more later.

So my question to anyone that reads this is if you are "always" first what are your system specs
CPU          IF OCed SPEED
RAM          IF OCed SPEED
VIDEO

As an example my system is:
CPU:opteron 165              OC: 2.79Ghz
RAM: 2 gig DDR500           OC: 253Mhz
VIDEO: 7900GT CO

I have 1.5GB of RAM, but I noticed my load times decreased substantially after I retired my PATA drive and replaced it with a SATA drive.

Almost always first, but definitely always in the top three or so.

AMD 64 Venice 3200+
Raptor primary drive
3GB OCZ 3200
BFG 7800GT
XP64

It's all about the RAM, harddrive and having a dedicated gaming rig.

You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

why would you spend $700(i havn't checked online prices for them or sales) for a pair of raptor X's jsut to install windows, and BF2?you could ahve got a smaller(but ur not using all the space anyways) 15k drive and the scsi controller card for it for far far less, that is if you bought them for the purpose im assuming you did.

do you really need 3 gigs? i've never seen bf2 take up more than a gig on its own(i have 2 gigs) unless you like to keep a bunch of apps open while playing, also i have all seeting maxed out but turned off shadows for sniping and AA just kill my framerate so thats turned off too, not that they really make a difference.

LOL!!!! Someone got owned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But regarding my stats, yeah, AT and Snipers (my most played kits) don't often get medals.  As AT, we do the dirty work (and get so little points), while all you medics and support get all the glory.

But have recently been playing medic and realized how it's easy to get points.  Save for the flyboys, being medic is the best kit if you're all about stats.  Here are two times I went medic/support crazy:
Date          GS  CS   TS    Kills   Deaths   Matches   Wins   Loss   Heals   Rviv   Rsup   Rpar PlayTime

Probably not.  Got some load issues during the previous patch (ended up just reinstalling BF2 from scratch).  Had a spare pair of RAM to troubleshoot and just never removed.

I'm ALWAYS top 3, but usually #2.

this is what I have:

CPU AMD|A64 3500+ 2.2G 939 512K
MEM 1Gx2|CORSAIR Twinx2048-3200c2pt
VGA ASUS N EN7900GT/2DHT/256M R

I don't overclock it or anything because my air conditioner doesn't work well so it gets hot in my apartment and I don't know what will happen if my machine gets too hot.

Maybe in the fall I will overclock.

Unless you think I should right now?  give me input!!

Where did you find these stats in this format by day?
