you're saying you want to put an AGP card on an PCI-E motherboard? that isn't possible, you have 2 choises:
- sell your 6600 on ebay and buy an pci-e card.
- or an motherboard that has an PCI-E slot and an AGP slot.

your choise

one more question... do motherboards come with a sound card?

most solid mobos made today have an integrated sound chipset which is fairly decent ... but X-Fi is sooooo much better.

it'll be hard pressed to match Creative's series.  If for no other reason, they've been around longer so more games will naturally integrate their features to take advantage of them.

Yeah, there are a few newer mobos with agp slots. I have the same prob. I got the geforce 6800 just before the whole pci-e craze and it was $300.00. I hate to waste money!!!
There are some good mobos... you just have to look.
As for the sound... $30.00 for the lower end sound blaster and it's great! you get the eax and surround sound 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1. It's not the best but if you want something untill what you want is released... it's a great deal.

the asrock 939 dual sata has botha pci-e and an agp.  It uses standard ddr memory and for the price it is a decent board.  it is not an overclocking champion, and doesn't do sli or anything fancy, but it does work if you are planning on holding onto you graphics card for a while longer.  It also has a cpu riser slot for an add incard to accept the am2 cpu's with ddr2 memory as well.

Jester, I have a new ASUS SLI Premium stitting in my cabinet.  I had computer problems and was told that it was the board.  Bought an ASUS Deluxe and as it turns out, the problem ISN'T the board.  If you want one, I have it cheap.  They do not take returns on it and I have no real use for it.  It ran friggin' great with the 7600GT which I have now.  Message me if your interested in attaining it.  You may need a new processor as well.  Check with the guys in here for compatability.
