People... I have been playing for an ENTIRE week this time without CTDs while before I had them quite often (I can also recreate the situation with CTDs when pressing "JOIN GAME").

What I did:
I just relaxed my memory timings to:
CAS LATENCY: 3
TRCD: 4
TRP: 4
TRAS: 8

While before they were 3-4-3-8 (and I had CTDs).

Another time... I don't know if it can help all or just many people, but I think this is another try worth to be shared!

Goodbye!

MMh... ok men... I'll explain it:
at PC boot hit "CANC" to access BIOS, then fo to DRAM CONFIGURATION PAGE... in stead of TIMING "Auto", select "Manual" and set the values as follows:

CAS LATENCY: 3
TRCD: 4
TRP: 4
TRAS: 8

The rest is OK in AUTO.

Is it ok now?

Goodbye!

I would not recommend this since everyones RAM is different, and changing the timings will just cause more problems for the people who don't know what they are doing. BTW, those timings are pretty slow

LOL EXCEPT for Winbond chip based RAM those timing would work perfectely with all and seeing that Winbond chips are present just un 256MB and 512MB sticks, those with 2*1GB CAN SET IT ANYWAY, WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL... indeed... they could solve the problem (and the fact they are slow could explain why)!!!

IN ANY CASE, chaning timings CANNOT damage system memory, at MAX your PC won't boot and you need a CMOS reset, but seeing that they are slow IT IS IMPOSSIBLE your 1GB sticks can't handle them.

I hope I have been enough clear.

I'm not sure we'll ever get a 'definitive' answer until someone works out the cause of the problem. Reason?

When I first downloaded the patch, I had NO CTDs. It stayed that way for, what, a month? Now I'm getting about 2 a week.

How about they just un-F-up the game (like it was) and then we don't have to F-up our computers just for the sake of a bunch of nitwits at EA?

Did we all pay $50 just so we could provide our own tech support?

We should all send a big ass check to EA for the time we've spent trying to tweak our machines for their sake!

Yeah... man they are there:

RAS to CAS Delay = TRCD
RAS Precharge = TRP

Man... I am a memory expert... I know what I am saying.

XtremeSystems.com (the most famous overclocker portal) dedicated to me a news thanks to my work on DDR1 --> http://www.xtremesystems.com/modules.ph … mp;sid=100

and I have been on standing since many and many MONTHS in their forums with hundreds of replies.
