Artillery would be useless with air battles, especially if it's over the ocean.

there's a chance to be hit by arty even if u're flying. i've been hit by arty in a plane before and it sucks. totally 1 in a million chance. try flying over the firing arty and see what happensJakethe8lf wrote:

I have DL the map from filefront, thanks for that! but have a few questions...
I have tried connecting to the IP address but it keeps saying 'You have failed to connect. Please check you network connection(s) and try again'. but it will let me join any other servers, any ideas? Also, where do I need to save the map file?

it might be cos the server has been put offline, or changed back.
you can test iot on your own tho by loading bf2, clking multiplayer, then go to create local.
then select the map, add it and clk start server and you roff testing it.
if i ever get the server online again, il tell you

I've had a similar problem, it has a blanked out map, so I assume it has either beenn upgraded to 1.4 beta, or is offline. it would have a map if it was online.

YES I finally got it to work, I think it will be a great map to play on and it is going to be awesome to have 10+ jets dog fighting in the sky!!!

and here is my feedback...
- I think the 2 main base islands should be A LOT further apart.
- I think the middle island should be taller so we could dodge inbetween the mountains better.
- I have noticed that the US can go inside the AA's on top of the control towers at the MEC base, and vice versa for MEC on the Carriers.
- At the West of the MEC base there is a plane on the mini and main map but it is not actually there, that is also the same for the US but on the East of the carriers.
All in all, you've done a great job!

2. i cant move em further aprt with out it messing up the whole combat area (you may hav noticed the water changes colour around the edges, cant place items ther i think.
3. il hav to try and sort out that.
4. those planes are accesible by spawning at the furthest bases for each army. they are platforms high in th sky, where planes spawn (as if ther is any base bombing, you cna just spawn up ther and get a plane).

What people don't realize is that they're actual shells. They don't go boom at the cannons and then blow up at the target. They actually shoot up then fall down. My point is, if you made a gun that shot artillery in bf2 (I've done it, it's fun) you could shoot it straight up and it would fall on your head.

Yea, I've flown over an arty gun in a heli and died before.. lol.
Are you good at modding the vehicles in the game? You should make an F-14 or something on the middle island. I'd love to use one of those in the game..

good work with this - can we organise a time when ppl are gona go on it, because I've been on it before and it's been empty several times
iv been hving problems with it, everytime i make a change to it and save, it just reverts back to the one before it and doesnt save.

Hmm... flame me if its you think its stupid or been suggested before.
What about having each side with less starting planes but add in 2 additional cappable islands with abandoned airfields. Boats and/or Helis can be added to send players who missed out on planes to get over and capture. The center island can stay for the bleed or AA incentive.
In all honesty... 64 planes for every pro, whore, and noob might be abit overkill. 16 planes for each side means a plane to share between 2 players. Much more better than 2 planes to share between uo to 32 that is what we currently have with normal flyboy maps
oh well, just my 2 cents.
EDIT: apart from my suggestions, Excellent work Link. Im quite excited with the possibilites that can come out of a map with lots of jets. There can actually be a squadron with pilots working together to control the skies. I can almost imagine engineer/support kits flying tight to repair/rearm each other in midair :p Keep up the good work!
