My system is now a 3200+ AMD processor @ 2.2 Ghz, 512 RAM, and of course my new video card which I bought of a friend for 100 dollars Canadian (bought AGP version when he didn't even have a graphics socket...).  Anyway, I booted up Counterstrike Source and it runs awesome with everything on with a 1024 x 768 resolution.  Then I boot up BF2.  I find a server in my favourites which was running karkand.  I had the settings with everything on low at a 1024 x 768 resolution, but I felt that it should have ran better, like if I had more RAM.  So would more Ram help?

Okay, I just checked my RAM, and it is PC 2700.  That gives me more questions for you guys to answer.

1. Is PC 3200 RAM compatible with any mobo?
2. If so, do both RAM sticks have to be the same "PC number"?
3. Can I get any speed of RAM (333 Mhz for example)?

It all depends on the pins.

pc3200 is usually 184pin.

Your mobo might be different, older ones are.

Check it out first.

If you get a higher standard than your motherboard can take (and it fits) your mobo will de clock the ram. (from, say, 400-266)

If you have AGP you might as well just buy a new motherboard (a cheap Biostar is like 60 bucks)

1GB helps a lot, I just recently upgraded to 1GB  from 512MB and a whole bunch of lag is gone, BF2 loads faster(verifying client data doesn't take 2 minutes anymore, with 1GB it's more like only 25 seconds), everything you do goes faster on your computer.  BF2 also doesn't have to do that stupid thing where the music plays and the computer is still focused on BF2 when you closed it; if it does do it, it doesn't last nearly as long.  You can also run more programs at one time with ease.  1GB is a must if you play BF2.

Go to 2gb if you can afford it.  You will have to check your motherboard specs to see if you can use the PC3200 RAM.  If you can, do it.  the additional speed will help you even more.

You should then be able to crank up your settings to high without any lag.

Yep.

PC3200 (DDR 400Mhz (actually 200Hmz)). And CAS2 is what you want.
