Help on some kind of computer blocking (Not BF2)

hey, im in usa and my bros comp is in uk, and it was working fine all year until today. but for some reason we cant connect to each other now ( ie. when i host a co-op game on bf2, when i host a game on ut2k4, when i host a game on c&c generals, and the same when he hosts) , they seem to be blocking each other, or one is blocking the other.

so, ive tried disabling all firewalls on my comp, like norton (i dont need telling its lame thank you), and windows firewall, and ive checked norton ip blocking and his isnt there. and he has done the same on his comp, but the problem is still there.

the weird thing is this has never happened before, its just started today. is anyone techy enough to lend a hand? thanks in advance

first you need to go to the start of the prob have you or your bro updated ANYTHING installed ANYTHING new changed ANY settings and before you jump and say no check and check again.

im sure i havent changed anything he is too. what kind of thing could it be do you know? is it gonna be ip blocking related, maybe ports? if ive disabled the firewall and it still happens, what else could it be?

it's not just that isp also block ports sometimes to stop things like p2p progs but i dont thing it would be that. tell me how thay are blocking each other in as much detail as you can.

well, it seems to be more when we connect to each other and one of us is hosting, yet other people can still join, just not each other. also, we could for example join a game of BF2 on ranked server together

sorry m8 i am at a loss i cant think of anything that my be the prob what you could try is to use somekind of virutal lan and see if that helps

and if i think of anything else i will let you know

its ok, thanks for tryin . i was just thinkin and it wouldnt be port blocking would it? it sounds more like an ip problem if its only me and him? i just dont understand whats causing the problem

if some ports are being blocked in has to be a prog of some kind OR (((LIGHT BULB OVER HEAD))) spy/ad/mal/ware have you tryed that?

so if ports are being blocked it wouldnt directly only affect us two right? ok ill check the adware spyware progs now, i do keep the comp clean though, but u never know, brb .....
