Think of this, it will run, but who said anything about playability?DarkNova wrote:

International support? Why does he need that?Buzerk1 wrote:
He needs international support which Alienware is very bad at, it's not the recent purchase from Dell that will change that.elmo1337 wrote:

Mmmm, I understand you may not want to pay for 2G of memory, but at least get your 1G memory on only one DIM, this way if you want to upgrade to 2G later you won't have to scrap the 2x512MB.
I see you're picking the 5400RPM disk.... it's OK, but if you feel loading time is taking too long, the 7200RPM disk is better (that's what I have).
And call Dell before ordering to find out if the basic warranty will allow you to get support after you move to Thailand.

I'm not moving to Thailand
I am gonna use this for gaming on occasions such as when I'm away from home and using the internet near WLAN points but I am still staying in England.
As for the memory the 9400 does not have the option for a whole 1 gig.....
And I also plan to use the laptop for things such as work, seeing as I got the desktop I play BF on (the one i'm typing on) for around 100-200 quid less.
Oh and the extra RPM would be great (I would love to have better loading times but it takes it a smidgeon too far out of my price range and my parents just wouldn't allow it. However if you can suggest something I could change in order to get the extra 47 pounds necessary for the better hard drive then please point it out )
Also do you think this will come with a few USB slots?

Ok i know for sure that loonitic laptop runs bf2 fine with all the settings on High.I know cus i have one myself with a slightly better graphics card and a slightly bigger chip.and i run mine in high on everything and i get no problems.
Maybe you guys need a better pc to compare to our laptops LOL!!!!!!!!!
My pentium M 730 chip rapes P4 chip anyday and if you don't believe me go and do some research-thats what the net is for.
Fujitsu Siemans FTW !!!!
And in answer to cyborg's last post-I was desktop all the way until i got my laptop, its the bext pc i have ever had for sure. The only thing is they are less upgradable than a normal pc.
My specs-Pentium M chip 730
1 gb ram
geforce 6800 256mb
And it kicks ass.

Thanks!
My desktop runs BF in low graphs, med sounds so Im hoping to experience some shadowns and better effects, etc. (Which the card looks like it can do, although Im sure if I forked out an extra 400 for the Nvidia it would be guaranteed )
So basically I am looking for a laptop I can use for gaming, wireless browsing when the desktops are being used and my own computer to do schoolwork/coursework on, sometimes in the car before school
I think I'll settle for the Inspiron 9400. My Mum is a little worried about the price but hopefully she'll get it.

I just check on Dell UK.... you are right, they don't offer the 1G on 1 DIM... that's bad
Anyhow, you will have a good system... loading will take sometime with BF2, only systems with 1.5G or more can load fast (desktop or laptop, doesn't matter).

Loading is a bitch for me on my DT
I usually have time to grab a coke.
