Harmor created a Poll (http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?pid=538254#p538254) where he asks for different kinds of Infantry Only Modes. To be honest - i don't like the option to choose only between his mode and DICE's superhuman mode because it's obvious who wins.

Therefore i created a new poll with more options and therefore a higher accuracy and it's higher presentable.

Option 1: DICE's own Infantry Only Mod

Explain's itself - the Patch 1.4 Infantry Only Mod is equipped with a lot of Chuck Norris' and crazy Hitpoints.
Option 2: Pure Infantry Only

- No Vehicles (even no transport), no mounted MGs
- RIBs on maps where's a carrier
Option 3: Infantry Only just with transports

- No Armor, APCs, AA vehicles, Ground Defense, Attack Choppers, Jets
- with Cars, but removed Guns
- with Transport Helo's, but removed guns
- with Littlebirds, but removed guns
- with RIBs, but removed guns
Option 4: Harmor's Vehicle-lite mode

- Replaces Tanks/APC spawns with Heavy Jeeps
- Replaces AA vehicle spawns with Light Jeeps
- Removes Jets
- Replaces Attack Helicopters with Transport Helicopters (i.e. USMC carrier on Wake Island 2007
       would have 3 Blackhawk spawns)
- On AF maps, replace Littlebirds with Transport Helicopters (some have suggested keeping Littlebirds,
       but we all know that Littlebirds pwn against infantry)
Option 5: Others (Cheeesus, this forum doesn't let you edit the poll, if it's already started - just state your oppinion then) Sry for this.

Regardless of which option gets the most votes, there should be some new server settings to remove
- Artillery
- Commander Scan
- UAV
- Supply Drops
- Car Drops
- complete Commander

I didn't include a "I don't care" Option, because if you don't care, why do you read this thread?

After a while i'm going to communicate this thread and it's votes to EA/DICE.

And now, have fun voting and i'm looking forward to a lot of statements.

I have asked the Map making community over at TotalBF2 to make a Vehicle-lite map pack and eventually to make the 'Infantry-only w/neutered transports' version.

Play Battlefield like it's supposed to be played,with vehicles on land,sea and in the air!

This is only going to be implemented in the new patch because EA listened to all the "Help!A tank kills me so easily!Unfair!"-whiners!

These "boo-hoo-tankwhore!"-whiners can only play infantry only because that's what they did before BF2 in CS,MoH or who knows what and they are just incapable of adapting to anything else than a footsoldier!

I'm gonna keep playing the "proper" way on 64player-servers with vehicles and everything,that's the gameplay I expected from BF2,not some bastardized Counterstrike with arcade-like Streetfighter healthpoints.

I play on the ground even if there are tank, planes, It called competitiveness, I don't mind getting bombed by planes/tanks, because thats what they are meant to do, my job is to either hide from the planes or try to find a way to sabotage the tank. Its the tank bitches that whine when I play, because they are like " You can't Derka-Derka my tank..boo hoo"; so to me its the other way around. I do find it difficult in some instances when helos are buzzing about, its hard to take those mugs out by yourself. When I face a tank/plane/chopper I expect to die when Im infantry. My job is to hide or spawn somewhere else. Im not in vehicles much.

yeah well as a sniper your opinion doesnt count because your never close enough to even see the vechicles that are blowing up the rest of the team as they try to take flags.

On a different note, my server has been running infantry only and jeeps are kinda stupid because the guns on them are often used and theres lots of running over people, the only time jeeps should be used is if its 64 player size maps, under that size its easy to get to flags with vechicles.

So,are you saying that I (or snipers in general) don't take flags and just camp somewhere?
Hmm,this is not the case,although I see myself more as a flag defender than a flag capturer.

But nevertheless,as a sniper with a M95 you can protect your flag from nearly anything,even attack chopper usually retreat after the 3rd or 4th cockpit hit.
So everything can be engaged (shot at,duh! ) by a M95-sniper,except for tanks,apcs or mobile AAs --> when they reach my flag I have problems because of vehicles too(even as a sniper!).

I don't see why they can't just leave it exactly how it is with all the hit points, maybe leave the stamina on just so you can actually go across huge maps. The hit points are perfectly fine, if anything the hit points should be higher for regular mode because people could mow you down with those crazy MGs and blow you away with a tank shell. I guess that's just EA thinking at it's best...

All vehicles lose their guns. Vehicles now have bigger carrying capacity. All guns are replaced by player weapons.

reg transports should be kept imo.  Some of those maps are just too damned big to hoof it everywhere.  That being said, the fact that they are releasing a patch with an endorsed violation of their own damned ROE is more than a little amusing.  Even if someone does camp w/ a Hummer turret and start mowing people down, a determined nader can take them down rather easily, or a few noob toob shots.  It's not like when someone does that in a tank or an APC where it takes 3-4 shots from a SRAW to finish the fucker off.

I would actually vote for a 1.5x hp bonus or a more realistic deviation on weapon shots, something needs to be done to make the infantry LIVE longer so it's not all BOOM!!! HEADSHOTS the entire map.  That being said, I don't think you would need the increased sprint bar and increased speed in general (confirm?) if you would just put transports on the map. (with either a mounted gun, or 360 degree rotation for passengers)

And I think this version should still have the commander, without the ability to spot while zoomed in, and only allowing him supply drops and scans.
So he can still co-ordinate squads, and will be able to drop supplies for a squad without a medic/support/something to hide behind.

If you acctually make it this far before voting, think about this... kubra dam. no vehicles... or better yet.. wake island as US, with no vehicles. LOL i havent gotten the opportunity to play an infantry only server with the new beta patch yet.. but the idea of being on a carrier non cap with no other places to spawn without as little as a boat.. well its a joke.

its not really made for the bigger maps. in all honesty i think this is in response to maps like warlord and karkand.

I'm glad to report that FFolkes has created an Infantry Only mod with neutered transports mod.  Soon we'll have the 'vehicle-lite' mod available to try out.  I invite you guys to try this mod and recount your experience here.

It contains the following maps:

Strike at Karkand - 16 SP map and 64 MP map
Wake Island - 64 MP map

I took out their kit customization in the uploaded file. This addresses all the options in Fierce's Infantry Only with Transport request except for the Little Bird since they are not in those maps.

Just download, extract, copy InfantryOnly folder to mods folder and then create shortcut pointing to the mod. I didn't have time to create the mod installer for you...

For example:

Target - "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/InfantryOnly

Start In - "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2"
