I downloaded incremental patch, after I did, BF2 startup screen would pop-up, everything would go black for awhile then it would come back to windows screen, so I installed full patch but then same problem occurred. (My BF2 used some of the things for lag tweaks such as changing name of shortcut thingy) Now I uninstalled BF2 and when i put in second disk it doesnt read it! My disk does not have scratches or dust whatsoever.
Can anyone help me?

Yeah, your problem isn't with 1.4. Your problem is with renaming the shortcut and then trying to patch. This has been covered numerous times before.

If you renamed your bf2 then tried to patch...

You can either

1) Change the exe back to its' original name and try the FULL patch again.
(Sometimes works, not guaranteed).

2) Do a full reinstall, and re-patch without renaming the exe first.

My friend had a problem where his files didn't totally delete, so when he tried to reinstall, it wouldn't let him. The EA site has stuff like this under help, that somewhere that everyone should check if they got these types of problems.
