I'm surprised that this hasn't been thought of before:
If you're SAS on warlord, and you're assaulting the palace, there will probably be some guys on the MG's killing any infantry moving in. Although these are easily taken care of by snipers, you don't always have on of those handy. So, get in an AIL raider, camp by the security office stairs, and hit F2. aim at the MG. Hit F3. Aim. Hit F4. Aim. now hold down fire and constantly switch seats. your guns won't overheat and because you're constantly switching seats you won't get killed so easily. I was doing this for about 3 minutes straight, keeping the insurgents away from the MG's and windows, letting us move in.
