it doesnt mean it has a total of 4GHZ, dual core can allow u to do stuff like run 2 programs at same time smoothly.

yes i know, but if each core is 2ghz how can 2ghz x2 not equal 4?

u got the wrong idea of dual core CPU's... they dont work together... AMD is trying to do that and its called reverse hyperthreading. its just like having 2 seperate CPU's.

Don't even need a 170 to do that!  The 10x multi helps on mobos that don't like to break 300Mhz, but with a good board the 165 is more than enough.
My 165 is running 2.79Ghz at stock voltage on an ECS KN1 SLI Lite mobo (about a $65 board if you know how to shop) with an AC Freezer 64 that was around $20 too keep it cool.  I'm stuck at 310Mhz and I think it's the mobo holding me back... but it's not worth spending $100 to upgrade my mobo for another 200ish Mhz.

I have nothing but trouble with ECS boards. Same goes with ASrock.

just ordered the DFI nF4 Ultra-D.  should have it tomorrow.  will test the overclocking over the weekend.  I think the asrock is limiting how far this thing should go.

very true. i was just saying that 2.8 is easyly achieved with a 170 and a DFI board (if you have a decent stepping, i should add)

So you think it is ok to block the runway with vehicles? C4 the plane? Mine the runway? Stand in front or on the aircraft if you don’t get in first? Or any combination of the above? Who the fuck do you think you are? Everyone tries to get in, if you didn’t make it, rather then launching a SRAW at the aircraft or jumping in front and punishing for a TK, do your team a fucking favor and sit and wait for the next one instead of causing the same problems as the bitch M95’ers. If you tried this shit in real life someone would knock those ugly Chiclets you call teeth out of your mouth and you’d be wearing your asshole like a turtle neck. End of fucking story!
I take it you have a slight to moderate dislike of the plane coverting young scallywags who get into a few high-jinxs when another fellow soldier happens to be a little quicker than they are at reaching the old Spowith Camel eh?

yeah mine's stuck @ 2.7 with the Ultra-D. it may go higher with better cooling but i can't up the v core much without over heating

Almost the same boat I'm in.  It's not really worth it to spend $50 or more on a huge HSF just to get another 100 or 200Mhz...  But if you can push it to 3Ghz with a big HSF... that might be worth the trouble.

Borad came in today.  Start fresh install and see what I can can get it up to.  The arctic cooling freezer 64 pro actually doeas a pretty good job considering its price.

i didn't figure i'd have this much of a heat prob. i know my hs isn't the best (zalman 9500) but it's pretty good along with low 70's room temps in a cm stacker but i can't go over 1.4v and stay below low 50c temps.

if i can scrape up the cash (gotta sell toys to buy toys lol) i'm looking into water cooling for the performance and noise drop. plus after the initial cost it's about the same price for a new block if needed as a new hs
