I wouldn't take this city list too seriously. Brussels is in it and that is in fact a total shit city. It's even worse than Antwerp. I wouldn't like to live in the city of Antwerp itself but if some1 would make me live in Brussels I'd fucking hang myself from a traffic light.
The government of Brussels is not composed of fucking fascists, Antwerp is full of them.

In wich way is Brussels worse than Antwerp ? I don't get it ?
Gent. Brugge. Hasselt. Those seem like nice places to live in. Then there's Mechelen and Antwerp. Mechelen, ok, Antwerp, well, fun to be in but not to live in. And then there's Brussels. You might as well go live in a sealed off bunker with nothing but a spartan bed, a closet with gray clothes and a shelf with ten mediocre books to keep you company. Been there a couple of times and it's a very depressing place. The only time I'm coming near Brussels again is when I have to get to Zaventem airport to get the hell away from Brussels again by jet.

We've got such low life expectancy cause Russia's #1 in the world in terms of smoking and drinking kids/teenagers, not to say about adults: an average Russian drinks 14 (fourteen!) liters of alchogol per year. Also, we're in top 5 in terms of lethal heart attacks, and a couple of minor factors.

I'll gladly contribute to, say, a program to provide dental care to children of impoverished families, but what i was referring to in relation to this thread is the fact that in a socialized healthcare system, someone can smoke a pack of cigs/fags/smokes/whateveryoucallem a day and knows full well that they cause cancer and other health problems, and I would have to pay for it, never have I seen a good enough reason for me to pay for someone else's mistake............

and healthcare is never free, see that huge chunk of your paycheck that's missing? Take a good look at that fatass's diabetes treatment, you just paid for it.

I know, over here we have one of worlds highest taxation. But I don't have to pay huge sums to some insurance company to get healthcare. Or be poor to get free dental care. And I can get doctor degree for free, actually government pays me for studying. And maybe because of decent social security we don't have so called street crime.

How do you know that you'll never get any disease that requires expensive treatment?

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

That may be, but at least I won't be drinking my self into a liver transplant and forcing my neighbors to pay for it.

I love to smoke, although I quit not long ago, and one of the reasons I never felt even slightly guilty about "burdening our healthcare system" is the level of taxation on cigarettes.  A pack of cigarettes will cost you nearly $9 (CAN) here in Vancouver.  It's nearly all taxes.

And when you consider that smokers don't live as long on average and therefore don't require treatment for other chronic -- mostly age-related -- ailments, it's fair to say Canadian smokers actually subsidize healthcare quite a bit.  I don't have a problem with this dynamic being applied more generally, tbh.

You can't run a society on the faulty premise that an individual's recklessness can only hurt that individual in the long run.  If you go drunk-skydiving and end up quadriplegic, your family will end up sharing the costs of your recklessness -- unless of course, your family's idea of morality and individual responsibility is so rigid as to prevent them from caring for you.
