Is it possible to go from Master Sergeant to First Sergeant?

I only just got my basic pistol badge (last of the required badges for First Sergeant) after I have already made Master Sergeant.   

I was expecting to be promoted to First Sergeant but nothing happened???

No it is not possible to go from Master Sgt to First Sgt, or from whatever is below Sgt. Major to Sgt. Major.  This has been discussed multiple times, search is your friend.

Yeah, I started a thread about this a while back.  I was over 20k when the patch came out so I immediately went to Master Seargent because I hadn't gotten my badges like I had intended to.  Had to wait for the 50k mark for my next promotion.  Oh well.
