It can be infantry only but there is a server side option for this and also they have stopped vehicle drops anywhere near buildings so if you are looking at a building then the option on the rose goes red and u cant click it...

Finally a good patch, WITH FIXES and without changes/addons...
2 HS's for a kill with sniper rifle in infantry only! Thats gonna suck!! Someone needs to get a server up

When you hold shock paddles you are healed instantly. You are invincible unless you're hit with an Eryx. You are invincible to EVERYTHING else including knives and sniper headshots - I got about 30 headshots on someone with the SVD but they just walked over and zapped me.

anyone know if they are going to be modifying any of the guns/classes/vehicles?
I really don't get the health changes/damage changes with the infantry only option. With less high damage armor, transport guns, or aircraft, why would you increase hitpoints? That makes zero sense to me. It changes the total dynamics of the game. I mean, it won't be the biggest thing in the world, fights will just take longer, but when you tie in multiple people, or things that were once one shot kills (nades, headshots, knives, etc) things become a totally different ballgame. Are you all positive that wasn't just a friendly fire reduction?
since this new infantry only mod is coming: why not have guns with higher fire rate and more capicity in the clips

Update on servers? i just formatted last night and am about to install BF2.. I dont want to put 1.4 on if there's nowhere to play... how many servers are up and are they ranked????

Will infantry only be an option on ranked servers? I thought the answer was no, but I'm not sure.

A few nerfs in the current beta build:
-Prone spamming is no longer practical (theres a long delay between crouches and prones so youre just slow)
-Dolphin diving is also no longer practical, same reasons as prone spam
-C4 can't be chucked very far anymore
