In the British Fleet Air Arm (Navy Air Force) they use to use the term W.A.F.U. - Wet and Fucking Useless.  Apparantly this dates from when the British Navy had proper aircraft carriers, and related to the steam driven catapults used for throwing the aircraft into the air. (don't get the wrong picture in ya head... lol)

Even today WAFU is used by British sailors - as much as FUBAR is by the americans.

I too still use it - and I love the frown when people hear me... lol

edit: to amend (Fleet Air Arm - not 'Air Fleet Arm' doh!)
