Why do I even answer your questions? You're an idiot.
it is odd that Americans who use the Standard system of measurement are familiar with slang for the metric, but a metric user isn't.
Where did I call you an idiot?Capt. Foley wrote:
Just one question, scince Im from America is that the reason you think Im a idiot,
No, you implied that I must be a child because even a child knows what it means.Capt. Foley wrote:

Mabey because your country dosent use words like that, and almost the only time they are ever used in the USA is in our Military, even though it is one of the most technology advanced and highest trained militarys in the world would you please find a reason to say we dont use proper terms. Also scince your from Australia and you say that they use proper terms how about you read this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klick "Its origin is sometimes linked with the Australian Army in Korea."
Im a civilian and Im 14, which I know you are also a civilian but older. Explain why you shouldnt know it again.Bubbalo wrote:

funny how the americans say their tank is better that the british tank. and the british r saying their tank is better than the Abrams. "my dad can beat up ur dad!! NUH_UH!!!"
show us canada's tank
I wouldnt say that either are better, each would do better in there own situations. But they would beat a Russian, Chinese tank any day.destruktion_6143 wrote:

But I thought the Canadians used BB guns mounted on lawnmowers as tanks.kr@cker wrote:

I don't know about him but here we weren't taught the term "klicks", everyone just says Ks instead of kilometers. I know our army uses the term though.kr@cker wrote:

Indeed, Ks is the typical shortening here.
Actually, it's the Imperial system, whilst we use the Metric system. More to the point, if Imperial users call them klicks, and metric users call them Ks, wouldn't the correct term be Ks?kr@cker wrote:

How would you be the one to judge, your country started calling them klicks.Bubbalo wrote:

Ther elite goes again with this worlds best tank BS again.
I have already proved him wrong twice now.
There are several things wrong with the challenger, by the time it got to the fight because of how slow it is the fight would be over!
here we go again uh, elite?
EVIL_STYX OUT!!!

The Australian military may have been the source. If you read the links which were used for the Wikipedia article you will find that only one of them lists that as a theory. Further, I have never heard any Australian use the term. And how would someone who isn't from this country and doesn't use metric be one to judge?Capt. Foley wrote:

Also, "How would you be the one to judge" is nonsensical.
Because of the fact that I dont reguraly use metric but still know all the terms and can use it easily and a person who is from a country that uses metric almost all the time, dosent even know all the terms. IMO thats kinda sad.Bubbalo wrote:

I was in the Navy for 9 years, been in Australia for 36 and yes, I know that a click is equal to a Kilometre.
Our military use it as a term of reference but I didn't know that it may have been originated down here......................good thing we learnt something today Bubbalo or the day would have been wasted!
;-)

So, the fact that I know metric means I ought know military slang? Are you fucking kidding me?Capt. Foley wrote:

And he was in the military.
Its hardly even military slang, its used in civilian life, my uncle went do to Australia for about 6 weeks and he said that was the first time he ever heard it and was telling us about it. (He had problems with depresion and the doctor kinda screwed up and he lost all knowloadge from the first 34 years of his life. And that was in Sydney, where he went. I find it hard to belive that someone who is old in a metric country dosent know slang terms for there system but someone from a nonmetric country knows terms from both systems. I just wonder how you could not. VspyVspy did you ever hear of klicks before you joined the military?Bubbalo wrote:

So, you're going to argue that your uncle who spent six weeks here knows more about this country than someone who's spent his life here, and knows people who've spent their lives here?
No. Im just trying to say that its kinda hard to belive that you never heard of the term. You probably just forgot......Bubbalo wrote:

So he managed to find someone who uses it and therefore it's clearly standard Aussie slang? For the last time:
AUSSIE SLANG FOR KILOMETRES IS K'S
Or should I start telling you about American slang?
