As the topic name suggests, I'm getting a new mic, my old one was taken from SOCOM and served me well for a couple of years but eventually gave up.

What I'm looking for is a purely input based, as in I am not interested in a set of headphones (as I use speakers and wouldn't give them up for the world). But also I am trying to find a mic that is attached to a headset (ie. it goes on my head/rests beind my ears and the actual microphone part is near my mouth). Not worried about it being USB or anything, just need a decent enough mic to use on TS etc

I've got the same headset and love it.  It's the best cheap mic out there.

I have a Plantronics .Audio 40 Headset and I love it.  The mic is very clear, its lightweight but durable, and the headphones work great.  Overall, Plantronics is a very good brand for headsets.

I had a logitech headset (speakers and mic) and it broke with a month and never really worked that well anyway - I've always liked Logitech so I'll just blame it on a bad batch.  Looked around for a mic only headset so I could still use the speakers but couldn't find one - so settled for a creative headset for £17 from pc world.  It's a wrap around set with a detachable mic - works really well http://www.creative.com/products/produc … duct=13868 I just put the phones round my neck and angle the mic
