Apparently, the A8N E is SATAII.

Pick a good SATA HD with your specs and price range in mind...it will at least give you a good idea on prices.  Oh, btw, that's not a bad mobo...not the best, but not bad.

I have this same mobo (is yours one of the freebies from last year's AMD tech tour?).

You can use any SATA or IDE hard drive you want. I suggest SATA, as its way, WAY faster. I love Hitachi drives, as their platters are coated with a micro layer of glass to prevent pitting from environmental factors. You can get a 250 gig drive for $85.35 shipped from Newegg (linky), and at that price, I'd get two for a half terabyte of storage for $170. In comparison, a 500 gig drive is $255 shipped.

You have 4 SATA ports on that board, so you should have at least 2 free right now. If you don't, SATA controller cards are pretty cheap, in the $20-$30 range. (linky)

Hows that?

Edit...Shit, none of those prices are shipped to the UK....my bad, lemmie look around and see what else I can find.

The best UK site to order from is www.overclockers.co.uk Have a look on there if you want to reccomend him something. HDD's aren't that much anyway, so buying from the US will cost you more. (with shipping and tax) I would look for one for you myself, but I supposed to be working
