If you bought this game when it first came out last summer, then you remember playing the map songhua stalemate. Now, this map wasn't bad. It was simply a forest map with a lot of apcs. only one tank per side and plenty of apcs, boats, transport helis, and jeeps. what happened, i found the map enjoyable but noone ever plays it. it was especially good as a 16 player map with 32 people on it.

i like being support and hiding in the jungle.....just walking along then your getting lit up. classic.
I dont mind it. I havnt played it in ages though, and only realised I hadnt since this post
lol i played it the other day and its not actually too bad, the bambboo trees are annoying when they get in your way and theres so much mist you can hardly see, the apcs are a pain in the ass if your on foot. Snipers hate it, Anti tank, engy love it.
this is one of my favorite maps. (not saying much i pretty much like them all). excellent map, excellent war zone. love the fog. excellent map for all kits.
I just think thats the worst map they made thats why I'm not playing it :d
its because people dont get many points on it, and they need points so stick to karkand like gay noobs
Road To Jalalalabad
i used to hate it, but its actually a great infantry map to play on.
most servers with it on usually suck anyway.
wtf my sig was not too big!
wats the max kb alowd then?

i think it died with the blackhawk to be honest,it was good fun hawking it up on stalemate, good for armour aswell, just not too great for points i think.
You can get plenty points on this map if yo can get ur team in a pain train of apcs.
I loved it. If you didnt like vehicles you can go through the jungle nad have great firefights in them.
I love sniping in the forests. Had a 10 minute stake out with another sniper once, it was great. Unfortunately, the APC's ruin the map. Completely.

That Map Sucked thats why no one plays it and so it died off every one plays the city maps mostly because you get the most points hey i play sf mostly now so i havnt played many normal maps in ages
Yes, those are great!XIthRyker wrote:

Although Songhua Stalemate have way more vehicles than needed, the water and jungle offer areas where you can move safely. I see more and more people learn these "secret paths" which makes them less safe (for infantry), but gives more jungle infantry warfare.
The RIBs are pretty useful also since you don't need to stay long in them, only a few seconds until you've crossed the water.
I think most server still have it on their map cycle but since the servers crash before they get that far into the map cycle....
ive never played it onliine i dont think i cant even remember if i did
I do miss this map. Anytime I ever see it on one of my favorite servers, I'm in it as soon as I can hit join.
Alright, and what happened to Daqing? That map never really took off at all
I love that map. It reminds me about BFV. I didn't really love BFV very much but there was some good infantry maps. And this is a good infantry maps also. In the 32 player version there is 8 APC's and 2 tanks. So few APC's should be removed and it's perfect map.
I have played 36 hours of Karkand. That's enough for me. I hate that map 'cause everyone says it's so great and it's not. Just few blocks of houses. Delete Karkand! And host 24/7 Shonghua stalemate servers instead.

I used to love Songhua, but there are maybe 11 servers running it at any given time, and they are either full, or empty. Someone else mentioned Daqing, which I think is making a small comeback. I don't know why, but alot of people complain about graphic lag and jittering on 64 Daqing, which may have something to do with it.
IMO, it's a poor map purely down to how it's implemented. I think once this mystical "Infantry Mod" appears, we'll see Shongua played a lot more. Real, gritty, jungle warfare.
Songhua with infantry only options would be interesting... But as of now between the complete spamming of mines and the 3 apc convoy filled with engineers it's a map that does not make my favorite's list.
I mean, I try to get somewhere fast so I hop into one of those buggies, driving along, all of a sudden like 3 apc's firing at me, I swerve away trying to avoid fire, then bam AT mine in my face.
The transport heli's are nice to go places, but really don't provide effective firepower.
As for sniping, it is a fun map to snipe on , you just have make sure to avoid the bajillion tons of armor rolling around.

I usually do very well in Songhua... Of course I have to be in an APC to do it. I think the fact that a lot of people like to groundpound - and it's not a groundpounder friendly map at all - is what keeps it from being popular. Also there's no attack chopper - no jet (which I like, but few other people do) so it's really hard to own the map by yourself, and that cuts out another large percentage of people that play.
