grappling hooks VS. ziplines, the SF release old question. il note the positive and negatives of each, read before voting on poll please.
grappling hooks: positives
a lot less noticeable, you climb up the side of walls rather than across half the map for all to see.
MUCH quieter, the hook makes less noie in the way that the initial clank on the roof upon deployment is the only noise, when climbing, its silent.
can get you WAY higher that ziplines, but you can still climb down them, so its a multi use tool.
can get you away from pesky claymores if you know where they are, or just dont feel like using stairs/ladder.
negatives
it takes a very long time to climb them, even at small climbs.
sometimes doesnt deploy correctly so you end up stuck at halfway, then falling to your death (if hurt badly.)
makes you a very easy target for snipers, if they see you.
ziplines, positives
you can ride them fast, VERY fast.
they can get you across very large gaps, to escape from annoying tanks, or to get to your favorite sniping spot faster.
if the line goes out, you can ride it, but sometimes you fall off, but it drops you back at the base of it, so you're fine.
you can shoot it up, at your friend, so they can ride it backwards down to your spot, no walking for them.
negatives
can easily be seen by the huge 2 inch thick rope flying across the map.
super easy to be sniped off, no death required, just massive damage.
can be destroyed by almost any explosive, nades, rockets, tankshells, even APC main gun.
cant ride it up, just down, so you must either walk up LOTS of stairs, or spend 4 minutes climbing ladders to use it effective enough so you arent immediatley killed.
after deployment, the base sometimes knocks you off the building, but just close enough so you cant use parachute.
ok, thats all for now, hope you like my poll/guide. it gives some perspective on the debate. (hehe master debater)
