Another thing I have met. Some morons have to stand on the top of your tank to catch a free ride. You tell him to get out, he won't. Then he falls off the tank in motion, gets killed and punishes you for tk.

I've been playing on a lot of servers that have that. NOT ONCE have I EVER seen any punisher with EVEN 1 FORGIVE.

I love the "Don't punish for accidental TKs" So, what, exactly is an accidental TK?
When NoobMcNadeSpammer tosses some love into the Palace flagroom on Warlord when 5 of his teammates are capping - would you punish? When I get TK'd I usually wait my 15 seconds until respawn plus a few more. If I haven't seen an apology in text or haven't been revived by the "untentional TKer" I will punish if the option is still there, or tell them what I think of their actions in text.
Why? I figure most "unintentional TKs" are the result of 3 actions:
1. Honest mistake the person feels bad and tried to make it right. - Forgive
2. Guy doesn't notice that he's even TK'd someone and deserves to have it brought to his attention. Perhaps he'll learn from this and not do it again, perhaps he'll go on his oblivous way. This is the trial and error method of education - if your error doesn't produce a consequence you will probably take a long, long time to learn. - Punish
3. It really wasn't an "unintentional" TK, just someone (ok, I'll stereotype, usually a kid hyped up on caffiene) but just somoene who doesn't care about his team and sprays bullets, nades, and shells left and right and doesn't give a rip. This is the type who sees 1 or 2 of his teammates in a crowd of enemies, trying to cap a flag and thinks "wow, that's a lot of kills, so what if one or two innocents dies - I still get lots of kills! woohooo!" - Punish
Most people are very apologetic if they accidentally TK someone, I know I am. Just take a few deep breaths, wait for an apology, and go on with your gaming.
The servers that have punishing turned off really frustrate me. I usually get TK'd about 3-4 times per round on those servers and the offenders just go on their merry way - either not caring or not noticing. I figure the punish feature was built into the game for a reason. To NOT use it, would just be silly. A lot of talk about the ROE on these forums lately, but here's one "rule" that is built into the game and we don't want to use it? I'm scratchin my head on that one.

I like the feature, personally.
I normally forgive TK's, unless they're clearly intentional or blatantly stupid. And even with the stupid ones, if he says 'sorry' I'll probably let him away with it.
I've been M95'd out of the seat of a chopper so that the jerk who shot me could solo-tv people. He shot me, said "Sorry" and flew off. Him, I punished.
I've been capping a flag on Oman, all alone under the UAV, nothing showing red on the map, when I hear a jet overhead. I look up to see five little cross-shapes drifting down on top of me. No apology either, so I'll punish that guy too, it's just far too careless for someone using a bomber to pay no attention to the minimap, especially if they're not chasing down an enemy tank or something.
But I don't punish for things like getting run over by a jeep. It happens. Its sometimes impossible to avoid. Crashes between jets are usually accidents too. If I get taken down by a friendly Stinger or IGLA, I'll forgive, because I *know* you can't target friendlies intentionally.
The record-keeping TK punish system helps sort out the auto-punishers from those who think about it, and personally that means that I can get myself into a squad of people who are far less likely to be morons, so it's a feature I'm in favour of.

This feature is old on battlefield.no servers, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they were first.
Don't make fun of those who punish! They're just going for their expert punish badge!!
Ive seen a few servers like this, its a cool feature.
