I hate armor and artillery much more, at least with snipers its possible to find and kill them with any kit.

My view is mixed:
I enjoy sniping (even though I suck at it) and I hate snipers for the same reason: snipers don't show themselves. It's fun to snipe someone who doesn't see it coming and has no idea where you are, but it sucks to be that victim.
With most other kits, a player has to show him/herself to kill someone, and this usually gives away your location and makes you vulnerable. That seems fair and honorable: "Here I am, let's see who can kill the other."
Players in jet bombers are like snipers--even though they show themselves, they aren't really vulnerable to players on the ground. That's why I love flying jets and at the same time I hate people who fly jets.

The sad fact is most snipers only care about their K/D ratio and will put forth no effort to take any flags or actively support their teams advancing infantry etc. They usually end up with a score of 8 kills 2 deaths and a teamwork score of 4 (all kill damage assists) and were a complete waste of a teammate.
There are some good snipers out there that go around with squads headshotting people from 20-30m that really help everyone else out. But these snipers actually get shot at by tanks, planes, infantry and therefore end up with relatively low K/D ratios which is mistakely used as the ultimate yardstick as far as sniper ability.
Well, if you really don't like snipers you can always play a non-city map. Suddenly they seem a little thin on the ground....

Sniping is boring. Snipers usually contribute less to the team then the other classes. I don't like sniping/snipers.
I snipe very rarely, mostly to snipe those other hiding snipers, other then that it's : Team Kits Ftw !

I like snipers. When I am a sniper, which I am alot, I try to help my team. I get up into a tower, spot units, shoot units, tell them about their defences etc. I have to admit it though, I do overuse claymores a bit.
Your first point is true, unfortunately. But K/D is not helped by what u suggest - camping, if people believe that gets them a better K/D then they are wrong. I snipe a hell of alot and most snipers sit in one place and get owned. Its so easy to tell pro snipers from noobs, as pro's usually dont get flustered at the site of a squad coming toward them and will wait for shots (i.e prone), they will think, work with their squad and ultimately win the day. I play sniper probably 80% of the time, I lead squads to flags, cover their backs when they need long range shooting, claymoring flags so we know where to go if i get a flag defend and generally keep everyone informed of what is going on. I got a good K/D and Im usually in the thick of it. I got 4100 caps I believe and plenty of cap assists, not a huge amount for Major, but then Im not a med or support so Im happy to say I try hard to be a teamplayer..:XDR:.PureFodder wrote:

I would say if it wasnt infantry only, which is what I usually play, I would swap roles from squad leader to either tank, jet or chopper gunner, I dont do it often enough so I cant be called a whore for that, but Im not bad so Im helping out my team as best I can.
Your third point is also true, but usually those snipers are, as I have shown with my stance on non-city maps, either in jets or choppers. Wake is the only place you get a good mix and can snipe well, most of the rest its hard to do it. I used to play alot of Gulf and Cleansweep as a sniper when I was a noob, I loved those maps but I did jack shit and died alot. SO, I went for city maps like Sharqi, Strike, Mastuur and Jalalabad where I felt I could make a difference. I like going infantry so thats where my strengths lie.
If you hate me for what I play then so be it, its just a game - My grouch in BF2 is I think the G36E is a gun which need no skill to operate; a spray and pray at close range and so accurate at long range its hard to miss, but Im not gonna whine about it by polling. I snipe, I love the 1 shot kills, I love the rifle, I do the teamwork and I enjoy the game.....thats about it for me really; SNIPERS FTW

When I play sniper, I play like nighthawk843. I help my squad capping flags, and covering their backs. It's the best way to be a sniper. Not just some stationary guy, free to shoot.
I don't spam claymores, but occasionally through some at stairs for personal protection. I never use clays on FF-mines=on servers. To many guys who forget to put on their glasses to see the red skull.

but seriously, 99% of snipers are n00bs who can't do shit, and then when you need someone to cap a flag, the last 5 people are snipers that just stay in their 'hiding' place and don't move until an arty strike sends them 1 mile in the air
