BF2S Forums FREEZE,not subzeros freeze tho!!!!!!!

it just said Windows service pack 2

Sorry i cant help anymore, but i didnt get my PC with it already on, i had to put it on later.

Thats probably why it was in control panel under add and remove programs near the bottom.

As for finding it some where else sorry i dont know were to look for it.

as i said some of my clan member are good with PC's, sadly i'm not great with em.

To finished it worked for me, as for anyone else i just dont know, i am just trying to help.

oh I think that was the first time it happened thx, but that was about 3 weeks ago. : ). we solved that one but this time its a little different

Wow, you did not read through the posts in this Topic before you posted, huh?

Wow, yeah. No more kicking. And I didn't do anything. I was just waiting for you guys to come up with a soild solutution or waited till it fixed itself. So, I guess it fixed itself, then.

Well I guess we dont have to worry about it cause it fixed itself............ for now.

So...... I guess untill next time.
I kind of hope there isn't a NEXT TIME. But...... sadley enough.... there probably will be.......

but i actually did the setup.exe from pb, this time i saved it to the pb folder and ran it from there.

What PB folder did you save it to? I mean where at? The one in the BF2 folder?

Glad you guys got it working again. I'll have to test when I get home this afternoon.  I'm curious though, did you guys ever get the message about "packets" when PB kicked you?  Because now I'm thinking that's a whole different thing. But it did start after I dowloaded and ran the bf.exe file...  Ever heard of it?

Hope mine fixed itself, because that service pack stuff confuses the hell out of me.

I was playin today and the power went out.  I restarted the comp and BF2 and everything looked fine until I actually got into the game and the game freezes as soon as the spawn menu comes up.

I tried re-installing BF2 and it still does it, I even updated my video drivers and nothing.  I did however manage to play with an offline account but then when I tried with my main account it froze again.

I want to fucking kill EA.

The worked for a Gigabyte board with nForce4 drivers.

My system always froze during multiplayer but worked like a champ at high res on single.  It was driving me nuts.  Finally, I figured out what was happening--the nForce4 ethernet driver causes lockups.  This fix assumes you have equal or better specs than my system:

Gigabyte motherboard nForce4 chipset
AMD 3200+
1 GB (2x512)Corsair RAM
Gigabyte Nvidia 6600, 256 mb
200 GB SATA 7200 rpm drive
a well ventilated case with opposing flow fans (meaning that some noobs with 12 fans, but they're all blowing in, are screwing themselves up--you have to have about equal airflow in and out otherwise you're doing no good)


The fix for freeze in multiplayer:

Download latest nForce drives
Remove all nForce drivers (from add/remove programs) Leave display drives if you want to.
Reboot
Reinstall drivers EXCEPT for ethernet driver.
reboot

I use a USB wireless adapter instead of wired ethernet.  Seems to work fine.  Even though I suck (PFC with a crap K ratio--I always seem to join servers where my side is being base raped)
