i was wondering if any one thinks that a great exodus of the world is ever going to happen and if you do , how could it be done. As everyone knows we have screwed up our planet.
Stephen Hawking made a statement at some kind of convention in England saying that we must move off this planet to survive. If there ever is a major exodus it'd be my guess that it'd only happen when expense isn't an issue or necessity is extremely high. I'm hoping that we leave because it becomes monetarily fesible rather than a move to escape.
I'd certainly sign up to get off this rock. It'd be incredible to lead or assist in one of the greatest undertakings of man kind, a voyage into space. Whether it's colonization or simply exploration of nearby planets I think that space is the final boundary of man kind.
I can't agree that we've destroyed or are destroying the planet. Modernized human kind is much more of a threat to itself than earlier times. Environmentally we could be doing much much better and socially we're in a growing stage. Instead of being shut off from the world outside of our own nation everyon can communicate at a whim. Sooner or later governments will either cooperate or crumble, ushering in a new era of people working together for the good of humanity rather than the good of thier bank accounts. If we survive that long I'm sure we'll have worked something out to fix or reverse the impact we've had on the planet.

We need to whore out Mother Earth for a little while longer before we start talking about colonizing others. I really think that the only way in the near future humans will take to space is out of neccessity. The cost of extended space missions is enormous right now, let alone funding groups of settlers.
