Man, I thought my 4:1 ratio with the sniper rifle was good.  Back to the drawing board for me.

Good work Books!

Books is a true snipers, sniper.
I recall back in the ol' days when we thought a 3.0 was the ultimate goal, those were the days Books:) I am honored to have you as a comrade in arms and in life. This is a goal that you've been striving the better part of 8 months. Hmmm. maybe we should go on opposite sides for a while, whilst I catch up!

It is quite an achievement. Anyone willing to put up with only getting one kill every 2.5 minutes and a spm of 1.2 to reach their goal shows some real dedication.

If I ever play that many hours maybe I could get my ratios up that high, but damm thats good.  My kdr is going up with the rifle, but I have a long way to clime out of my hole before I get to 2.0 let alone 7.  He plays almost 5 hrs a day to my 1 hr.

But in all fairness to Books, how much time do you spend watching TV, or drinking, or any of the other myriad of things that Books doesn't do.

He plays BF2 for fun instead of getting piss drunk or watching TV for hundreds of hours.  I see nothing wrong with that.  And it's 5 hours a day average.  Averages can fool you really easy.

Nice to see somebody who feels good about what they're doing and not come off as some self-aggrandizing jackleg whose rant farily screams of "look at me, look at me!"  Truly impressive -- would love to here more about your system.

Again, congrats!

I have a full time job ( 40 + hrs/week) + commute time (5-6 hrs/week) + wife + cooking (cause tv dinners are unhealthy and so is fast food) + dogs + other house hold responsibility + shopping (food), So  No, I don't watch hours of tv.

I don't play when I am sleepy cause its worse that when I am piss drunk ( wiitch only happens 1-2 every couple of months).

Yes, I understand that its an average.  I average less than one hour a day currently.  Regular playing time has large effect on your trained response.  I guess my point was that If I played 5 hrs a day from when I started 6 months ago I would have a 3 to 1 KDR or more.  Not that I could ever get up to 7, but I can see that it would be possible with that may hours put into the game.  I just don't have time to play bf2 as him.

very nice Mr. Books...

Goals are great to set and even greater to achieve.  I'm working on 3:1, then it'll be 4:1, then it'll be 5:1, etc etc  Good luck on 8:1

Books you are the best. I have learned a lot from you and I am trying to get up there in your stratosphere. I am reaching 3 soon and will keep working at it. Lately I have digressed by playing other maps/kits for the fun of it. It hurt my stats but I enjoyed it. Now back to work!

Do you play on a 24/7 Kubra Dam server a lot?  Cause you've got more time on that map than all of the top ten ( the only one  with more than a 100hrs on Kubra Dam is ECR.RC).  While others hate that map, I find it feature rich and relatively balanced.  I have not found a server that runs the map more than once every couple of hours.

I don't necessarily play a 24/7 server a lot, but I do tend to gravitate towards servers that are running Kubra.  Like you, I appreciate its variety and open-ended possibilities; it offers a great mixture of topographical features, an abundance of scrub and brush to mix in with/hide among, excellent visibility, and lots of opportunity to engage targets in my preferred range (200-400+ meters).  It's also a map where I feel a sniper with my approach (serving as a scout/spotter/long-range target interdictor/harrasser/base defender) can make a real and noticeable difference).

But even more than that, it's the map where I've made acquaintances and developed friendships--some of them especially strong ones.  I met Tahadar for the first time on Kubra, and Todd Angelo, mporlier, Robin Hood, ROly POly, and Mantisboy Sniper/Death to Bunnies (and others whose names escape me at the moment).  Good people, all of them.  And, of course, though we'd bumped into each other on Mashtuur earlier, I feel I truly met [GDC]SinnFein on Kubra 8 months ago when he snuck up and knifed me in order to take my M24.  I still remember it: "Ahhh, an M24.  That's what I was looking for.  Thanks, lad!"  He was so friendly and engaging that we kept conversing the rest of the round as we hunted each other, and then teamed up the next round and started to get to know each other.  We became a particularly effective sniping team through our time on Kubra, but we also became extremely close friends.  In truth, much credit goes to Sinny for whatever accomplishments I've managed because he was usually there, teaching me new tricks or covering my back or calling out targets for me.  (For those of you who've inquired about how to be successful at sniping, my best advice is to find a sniper as skilled and smart and unselfish as [GDC]SinnFein and partner up with him/her.)  So, in summary, in addition to being a great map for sniping, Kubra has some special sentimental attachment for me.
