No not anti-air, but anti analysing.

If I turn it up or down what difference would it make?

I have it off at the moment and always have done, so on or off, what setting and what is it!?!?

It smooths the edges on objects i makes the game look a bit better but puts a big drain on resources of your graphics card. You could try turning it up. What card do you have?
I have it on 2x on mine but I only have a 5700 ultra

Anti-Aliasing makes hard edges smoother by bluring them.

You see the right one is anti-aliased. This does'nt make a big differnece on high resolutions but 800x600 or 1024x768 won't look that pixely anymore

well to be exact: if you take an AA of 4, you divide your pixel into 16 samples (4 horizontal 4 vertical squares). You calculate what color each sample should have and then you take the average as final result. Because of this everything will look a lot smoother as the pixels on the edges of objects will be partly changing into for example background, making the final result less harsh.

But this means that instead of one color for each pixel, you have to calculate 16, which takes a lot more time.

I have it off to reduce lag.
