Actually, I've had my mouse since February and I haven't changed the batteries yet.  And despite the power button, I only shut if off for 1 week while I moved.  Most newer mice last a long time on batteries.

The faster IS PS2, The USB interface doesn't make it possible to reach the 100Hz of PS2.

And I overclocked My PS2 mouse to 200Hz.

Although I cant tell the difference between USB and 200Hz PS2.
How do you overclock a mouse? I simply must do this.

Oh, and guys, if your screen only refreshes at say 85Hz, what's the point of having a mouse that does more than that? You won't be able to see it anyway, will you?

Yeah, I didn't quite understand why it has an FPS count, lol.  It's like saying: "This mouse is so good, if it was a video card it would be THIS FAST".

If they had an outside power source, yes.

How do you overclock a mouse? I'm going to stop providing links for people. Google is your friend.

Your screen doesn't matter. The mouse's refresh rate has nothing to do with it!

It's how many times it updates, so you can make smaller movements or larger ones that are more smooth.

Oh, and read this.

http://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_c … ns_see.htm

While technically your eyes can see up to 200 "FPS" it's much more complex then FPS, but anything above 40 is going to be the same as something different, as long as it's aove 40.

So even your "lacking" 80hz is overkill.

Fair enough?

Thank you scott for reminding me of that question.

Yes you will notice a difference. Not much need to explain, but yes you will. A huge difference. I went from a 510 to a G5 and I was instantly better...

I still don't know if my dad will let me spend that much on a mouse (he's the one with the credit card).  He doesn't use his comp for gaming so he doesn't really understand.

Sadly, my parents aren't very easily convinced, they both think video games are a waste of time.

What I meant was which one moves faster and is less sluggish.

Well jus think about it -- which is gonna be better, old technology or new technology? And why do you think mice come as USB now?
