Okay, I was going to try this "ultra high graphics" thing, but I haven't yet. Should I not even try it now because it's not possible?

why do you need ultra high settings anyway, medium graphics look good.
I really could not tell the difference when i put it on ultra high, pre patch, so i just play on high.
i ran in "ultra" for a while, it doesnt look any diffrent, or the grass? nothing does
in fact i lost 15 FPS from setting it there. for what? nothing no IQ gain whatsoever
and dont say my video card sucks. i have two 7900GTX's in SLI

Ultra High seems like one of those settings that was removed due to time constraints. Notice how in the video settings with a "Low, Medium, High" selection of options there's an empty space under High.

Try re-installing your x-fi drviers.. i had the same problem pre 1.3 and had to fool around with it to get it working.137[CSi] wrote:

This might be a graphic driver problem. DL latest drivers might just work. It seems that BF2 does not realize what nice goodies you have.DTAC wrote:

I might also be a DirectX issue. If the driver tip did not work, DL an updated DirectX from Microsoft.

Well I have 1.3...ran it before 1.3. After a full wipe and reinstall can't run it now. IMO "NO ultra is not avail in 1.3" IF someone can prove otherwise let us know.
and for those of you that are saying that we are whining cause we can't have ultra. I bought a new machine just to run this damn game, I want it to look the best. a compare screenshot with high and ultra high next to each other say a heli on a pad, same map, same angle etc

As i see it the biggest drawback with 1.3 is just that you cant get ultrahigh now it is like in a fog all softened up ;-)
