What is your countries immagration policy??..Do you have laws permitting illegal aliens to enter your country without due process?
Stupid fucking question.  If the law permitted someone to enter the country, they wouldn't be illegal.
you know the spirit of the question.........If you can't answer it, then I would just as soon you ignore it like rawls

there is some relevance to the "size" issue in regards to crime, in general there seems to be an exponential increase in crime in regards to landmass in combination with popluation density, look at the crime stats for some of the higher populated countries like China and India, then keep in mind that much of the crime their also goes unreported due to the lack of infrastructure in rural areas

You could say that about America also, there is tons of crime that is never reported here.  Unless of course you are saying also as in we have that problem too.

No I think the cause of shit like rapes and other crimes is the liberal viewpoint that we need to worry more about criminals rights and to make sure we treat them nicely, than we need to  worry about the victims and to see justice done on their behalf.
Thats ridiculous. Everything is right or left to you, liberal or conservative. What ever happened to right and wrong? So liberals take the view of lets find the root of the problem while the right wants to burn everyone in hell. Isn't better to find a middle point (rehabilitation/stricter laws) than just blaming the problem on a type of political view (left/right)?

It is ( in Lowing's defense ) commen knowledge that NYC's incredable turn around in Crime rate and safety is due to Revoking paroles of dangerous crimanals. " The Great Parole program was a 1960's pet theroy of the Liberal Left and it cost New Yorkers ( who didn't live in gated communities and super secure hi Rises ) dearly for better than 20 years. Now even Harlem is Very Safe and Upscale. Even a woman can go anywhere nite and day

Rudy Guliani was a Republican. When it came to putting their money where their mouths were, The liberal New yorkers knew how to take care of their own asses. Its just everyone elses they didn't care about.

another example.
" Guns are stupid, evil and dangerous " after 911 " Give the captians and Crew Guns NOW "

Find your own examples as they abound.

That's one theory.  Here are some others...

Before replying, please note I do not advocate any of these views.  I'm just suggesting "common knowledge" generally isn't that common.

Is anyone really surprised by this? I mean, it's the USA, one of the most densley populated and largest countries in the world, one of the reasons that such a high crime rate could be attributed to a variety of reasons, such as the Gun Laws or the high poverty rate (quite high compared to other countries, for example: Australia or Japan).

It can be contributed to the infrastructure of the economy of the country as well, a booming economy can result in higher interest rates, resulting in higher home prices, resulting in people unable to afford a house, petrol prices being at an all time high (that would be Gasoline to you Americans) also results in people becoming desperate to steal (some cases even kill someone) for enough money to simply get enough money to fill their car up (if they have one).

It can also be attributed the highly Catholic based population, as other countries that follow more "peaceful" religions if you will, once again, for example, Buddhism, Japan has an incredibly low murder and even rape rate (ironically enough they have a booming porn industry about forced sex), I don't have enough evidence to really back this up, because, at this standpoint on a highly religious country, I'm making assumptions, but it can make you think when you make comparisons (another, Iraq and the US, Islam seems to be the more violence inducing religion right now, at least in alot of extreme cases).

While it is one of the largest, it's by no means densely populated.  According to Wikipedia, it is the 144th most densely populated country in the world (of 194 countries) and their figures come from the CIA World Factbook http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co … on_density

I find thats why it so easy to make a fine living. It isn't much of a "theroy" for me. I lived and worked  in NYC  from 1977 to 1989 and then again from 1996 to 2005 and I still go there a lot.
