I have a Nivdia GeForce 6600GT and AC97 Audio Device. I am going to get 2 Gigs of RAM and I was wondering if I could run sound settings on medium and ALL my video settings on atleast Medicm and mabey some high settings.
I think you could get away with sound on medium no probs but video might be a bit tougher, for decent frame rates you'd be pusing it on high settings. I've got a 6800GT with 1GB RAM and have most on medium or low, with only geometry and view distance on high and decent frame rates.
depends on what cpu your running.
myself my fps on full 32 & 64 servers averages around 80-90 fps in fraps on bf2,all settings on medium 1024x res,view dist 100%,dynamic shadows turned to low.
audio on medium software (as mines ac97 7.1 onboard,only choose hardware if you buy a seperate pci soundcard)

bfg 6600gt oc apg (clocked as standard out the box)
amd 64 4000+ cpu
1gig ddr 2700
game runs sweet & usualy one of the first to load maps which is good for getting to the jet first lol.
before i had same setup but using a socket A 2800 sempron,fps with that was about 50 on a good day,load times took the piss & 64player servers lagged the hell outa me so had to stick with 32's.

6600 you will get away with medium for ok frame rates. I have a overclocked card but still play on all low to keep my screen res high.

i have a intel penium 4 2.5ghz with 3 gigs of ram with a nivdia gforce 6200 and i run my graphics on medium and it works fine
Alright, then im getting 2 gigs of RAM. I have a 2.53ghz pentium 4 and the 6600 gt. If you run yours all on medium with a 6200 I guess Ill get some RAM.
if you got a cpu roughly near mine but bung your 2gig of ram in you should have better than how i run mine. if using 128mg gfx cards having 2gig compared to 1gig of ram would take the load off your system & run+load bf2 better.

The guy at Circuit City is partially correct. A 6600GT will allow you to run on medium settings depending on the rest of your computer's specifications. We need to know if it's an AGP or PCI-e motherboard (for the graphics card), how much memory it has (including in what combo of modules, i.e., 1x1GB or 2x512MB, or 4x256MB, or something else), and what CPU it currently utilizes.Capt. For now, turn all lighting and such down to low, view distance on max and resolution to 1024x768. Then crank up the settings gradually until your performance is where you want it to be. Note that you'll get significantly less on a 64 player game than a single player match.
I have Lighting, Terrain, Geometry, 100% view distance, and something else on medium, everything else is at the lowest possible. Sorry I dont know if my motherboard is. Im pretty sure is AGP. Which I guess is a bad thing. DAMNIT.
