I've looked and used the search engine and seen how you can give karma and why people give you good or bad karma ... my only question is ... what does it do? And does it have anything to do with the folks driving around in tanks with "+1" next to their names?

I apologize in advance for the stupid, noobish question -- but, well, inquiring minds want to know.

If you see a guys name with a plus one beside it and he's in a tank it means he has a gunner. Ditto in a blackhawk the pilot's name will show up with [+#] for however many people he has in his chopper.

Karma here is completely unrelated, it's just whether people like your contributions or whatever. No practical reason for it, but some people get bent out of shape over it.
