Ok I called em but it didnt make sense I dont have a busness at all and what is a "value added resale partner"?
OP,
I think you're up u know where without a paddle. It sounds like you either corrupted something in your registry or have a VERY bad spyware/melware program. You should never have only 1 profile on your computer. When you're in and can not see anything give it a ctrl-alt-del and try "logout". If it gives you a clean login prompt try to login as administrator with whatever your password was (or nothing). If you have a second computer you can find, download, then run a password reset program so the admin login will work.
You can also try booting to a command prompt (off CD) and move your existing profile c:\documents and settings\"your user name", then reboot. This will force windows to "recreate" your profile from scratch... oh.. I guess you can't "move" in a command prompt, but you can just rename it or copy it to a different folder and delete the original.

I am a strong advocate of self-education. If Gateway tech support can't fix the problem (they usually won't), please-oh-please buy this book. It's used by techies and techies-to-be of all ages and computer-related occupations. Straight forward, doesn't talk down to you, and teaches fast.
I hate to say it, but the 'Cow Co.'s' tech support really doesn't help computer newbies much.

Are you running windows media center by any chance? If so your disc really isn't real windows....... THanks to microsofts awsome thinking there are no windows media center installation discs.
It boils down to this dude: Take the thing back to where you bought it (if it was not from a person that is) and tell them your problem. You should have warranty/support on that thing for a while and since you just got it in January, you should be free and clear on that. If you still refuse to do that, then call them again or find a better number on their website and keep pressing buttons in their automated menu until you get a body on the other end. Tell them your problem and that you need live technical support, not a forum or a faq or anything like that. It sounds like (duh!) that your OS is totally corrupted. If you can't reinstall it from the recovery cd they sent with your pc, then you will most likely need a new hdd as it is probably failing on you. Either way, you can't get what you really need from here, you need to talk to the Cow Co. (gateway) and find out what to do or where to take it to be repaired.
Oh Yeah, by value added reseller, they mean the place where you bought it. Like Best Buy, Comp USA, Circuit City, GATEWAY COUNTRY STORES FFS. I'm assuming you're in the US. If you are not, phone it in, that's your only choice.
Peace
