I was wondering what price I could get on my computer if I sold it on Ebay. Its a Sony VAIO that was upgraded some. The things it has are:
17inch Flat Panell Monitor
2.53 Gh/z Pentium 4 Processer
Nividia GeForce 6600GT
AC97 Audio Device
512RAM
15GB hard drive
Another 80GB hard drive that seems to have not been connected when I upgraded it.
Microsoft Windows XP
2 speakers
mouse
keyboard
Im hoping that I can get atleast $800 for this computer. What do you guys think I could get on Ebay.

So if I start bidding on Ebay at around $700 and a buy now price at $850 do you think I will get some money for it? Im trying to finance 1,270$ computer that might jump to 1,530 if I want to upgrade.

Yea, the 512 RAM and the 15 GB Cdrive and the 80GB D drive that isnt hooked up is what I hate. And what is the point of a 100+ GB hard drive. I had over 10 games installed on my computer and I only used like 30GB when the D drive was still connected.

I don't think anyone would pay much over $600 for it, but I could be wrong.  I also tend to build everything myself so I might have a skewed opinion of it.

If I were you, I'd start it at $600 with a BuyNow at $700.  But then, it's also been about five months since I last built a system.

All the cool kids are doing it these days. Prices have come way down. I just bought a used computer for a buddy of mine that has twice as much of everything you described (same proc about) for $350. That was the secret handshake homeboy special price but yeah, look on ebay for comparable machines to give you an idea.

Wait, do you think it would be a good idea to buy a computer off Ebay for myself with say a PCIE 6800, 2gigs of ram, 100gb hard drive and a pretty good sound card?

Were you talking about my computer.  I Can upgrade for about 580 after shipping so that is why I am looking into selling it.

Yes, I was talking about your computer.  I'll be the first to admit I'm not too good with used computer prices because I've never considered buying a used computer.  I do all my upgrade piecemeal too...video card here, RAM here, HD here, etc.

I have a collection of over 100 games, and multimedia, and video editing apps, and scanned images, etc., etc., etc. 100GB just isn't enough, let alone 30GB.

I'm sorry, but your system isn't even worth $700 USD, second hand. A grandma might buy it, but you'd be ripping her off. Try $400 for the system, $100 for the LCD. That's about as much as you can get away with without being a complete dick. Or do what I do when a computer depreciates like that: keep it. I'm sure that if you already have a system in the living room or garage, that this one would fit neatly in the cupboard.

gotta agree with unnamednewbie here.  You may get $400 for the system and $100 for the LCD, but don't expect much.  The shipping costs won't be too cheap either.

I have over a half a terabyte in my computer and it is over half full because I get a lot of movies (almost 5gb a piece), games (~2-3gb a piece) 10gb of music, etc.  Plus game installs, programs, OS, pictures, etc.
