The Alienware has a better PSU and mobo. If you want quality for a cheap price, build your own.

It's not like it's insider information.  The deal was done a few months ago.

yup dell own alienware, and i could hardly call those 2 pc choices comparable, a 7600 and a 7900? wtf?

i'd buy neither and build my own from the ground up, nothing better than knowing your pc inside out so well that if it fucks up you can just about always place your finger on exactly what's screwing up...

actually... dell literally owns alienware, theyve just bought the company a few months ago.

DIY pc ftw!

no offence to anyone, but i seriously can't see the point in buying an alienware desktop, i admit their laptops are really nice, but for the price and a couple of hours of building you can get so much more for the money as far as desktops are concerned

i know the idea of building a pc is kinda daunting to some people, but many online retailers now offer a build option to get the parts YOU chose put together and then the complete pc shipped to you, hell some will even install the OS for you

only bonus of buying from alienware is the warranty, but generally pc components come with their own warranties, and as said above by building yourself troubleshooting etc is a lot easier

don't get me wrong, dell are great for people who want a cheap pc to do every day tasks etc, even some gaming now and then but when it comes to alienware they are aimed at the performance sector, and imho for the price much better performance can be had
