wow.

I got back from the gym this morning and turned on my computer, and my monitor went

"bzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZTT CRRRRAAACCKK POP!"

and now my beautiful 22" CRT is toast.

and I can't afford a new monitor because my wife just wrecked my car last week, and 3 weeks before that I fried my motherboard and got a whole new system

crapppppppppppppppppppp......

Only a matter of time before my computer will blow; Its arond 30+ degrees in my room. With a overclocked graphiccard. If I hold my hand inside the computer my hand will burn! I have been thinking about buying a fan so it can flush cold wind right into the computer.

yeah I'm on my wife's laptop. I have Tight VNC installed, so I can control my desktop from her lappy, but there's no way I'd be able to play like that (obviously).

...you're right, it does seem that I have awful luck this last month...but I'll get through. Sucks Man, I had a sweet ass 21in CRT and one day the same thing happened, it came back on from sleep mode and one of the power caps blew and the whole screen looked like it had beer goggles

Sorry to hear that man. I'm still using a 22" NEC FP1370 as my primary monitor. I love it, and have no intentions of giving it up for a LCD until this thing dies.

The only reason I bought an LCD is because I go to LAN parties...and my CRT could stand to go on a diet!

I think I should try the E.T. approach...leave a little trail of Reese's Pieces going right to the stove, hansel & gretal style

Sorry to hear about the hardware losses, both computer and vehicular. Anyway, be sure to allocate about US$300 or so. There's probably a good panel out there with a good price and performance. A friend of mine got the Viewsonic VX2025wm for under 300 and he likes the whole world of a difference it made. Added to that it is widescreen and it's an even bigger bonus overall.

Save up now... but what I have mentioned is perhaps the best option until some loony finds a Dell coupon combination that gets us a 24" wide for under 400.
