I don't think you should remove the CD while playing the game...

I believe you only need the CD/DVD in the drive to startup the game. I don't think it does a CD check after that.

Then again, I'm using a mini-dvd image that's mounted via DaemonTools, so I don't have a drive spooling up to tell me. (Much better than a no-CD/DVD crack.)

Was it a "beep" sound comming from "INSIDE" youre computer & not from youre speakers? Whenever that happens, its not good. Except when you start youre computer; you should hear: "beep!".

Battlefield 2 uses SafeDisc v.4 to validate the cd/dvd.

SafeDisc adds a unique digital signature to the optical media at time of replication. Every time the application is run, the SafeDisc authenticator performs various security checks and verifies the SafeDisc signature on the optical media. Once verification has been established, the sequence is complete and the application will play normally. The authentication process takes about 10-20 seconds. The SafeDisc signature cannot be copied or transferred from the original media. Certain multimedia programs are designed to run from the PC hard drive without accessing files from the program disc after the initial installation. SafeDisc will permit this as long as the consumer retains the original CD or DVD disc, which is required for authentication each time the application is launched. Failure to place the original disc in the drive when loading the application will prevent validation of the SafeDisc signature.

You have a go to remove the disc safely after starting the program.

I placed the disc inside the drive again to test whether it will be working fine for running and it did. But  my main concern is, whether the disc will be spoilt? I think i know why there was a beep. I took the disc out, realised my mistake, hit back the eject button and the disc went in. Quickly quit the game, hit eject, then eject again and then the sound occured.

Disk will be fine, you should be worrying about the drive and/or hardware.

Yeah, the laser isnt strong enough to scratch the disk when you remove it. All i know is that bleep from the tower has something to do with like the bios and stuff like that. If your computers fine it will be ok, nothing to worry about.

I know from daily experience (My 1.5 year old playing with the CD tray) that you can remove the disk any time after the game is running.  My son found the CD buttons a long time ago and will sneak under my chair to get to them.  It only gets bad when he uses the Power or Reset buttons during a good round.
