Okay, so the part about New Jersey being bigger than England is total fiction (as is often the case with Mr. Horsey).

So let's see how many murders the UK would have it had the same population as America.  We had 853 in the last year the figures are available for (March 2003 - March 2004).  The population is 60 mil instead of 296 mil, or about 5 times.  So how many murders would England have had if it had the same population as America?  853 X 5 = 4,265.  Roughly a quarter.

Don't try the big country nonsense, it doesn't wash.  There are two countries with a larger population than the United States, and neither have a higher murder rate.

Violent crime has actually GONE UP since GTA was released. Remember folks, the Colbert Report is a COMEDY show. They report real news too, but some of it's just a joke. Considering that their data is the total opposite of the truth, it seems the video game story was for just for giggles.

Oi, as expressed in another thread, I felt that crime would definitely go down were certain prohibitions made, but that given the scope and scale of the project--on top of their being so large a spread of many of these facilities--that such a plan is unrealistic for the U.S. (it was that knife one, about Britain and such). There's some more about my stance in that thread, but you'd have to read it to get the full representation.

I would bet there's more crime in Jersey than in England.

It's a question of economics (specifically, how much money each region has / does not have) and demographics (the great melting pot vs. ??) ... not of country size / population.

It is getting worse to an extent, atleast in the area where I live.  I think Indianapolis has had more murders this year so far than they did last year....maybe not but they are higher than they were at this time last year or something to that effect.  Just 2 weeks ago there was a family of 7 found dead in their home where someone had broken in and killed them.  Just about every week there is another murder in Indy it seems like.

my point was, someone was trying to blame these "simpletons and neanderthals" (you must have been quoting me while I was editing it in) for the high crime rate, when it was simply untrue, education = safety and respect, and unfortunately someone's skill parenting is all we have to go with, so we either do something to encourage a stable family unit (you'll find most familial fuckeduppedness has a direct correlation to the establishment of the welfare system), or we deem certain people ineligible to breed and have them sterilized, i'm in favor of both

But you're right about the 12K lives' worth to government ... cars kill more people each year than weapons.

I'm merely speaking of the trash within each racial sect. As contemplation would have it, I've emplaced myself within the position that many ethnic groups (or, particular regions of racial basis) are with great constancy to ancestors and their desires/motivations/actions. Despite the original depart from Africa, you have to examine, or at least, proffer (present as proposition) the possibility that those who remained were with a lacking for intrinsic, inquisitional nature. As the course of time would see progression, the physical eventually demarks alterration between those differentiations in choice. Is my theory suggestive of an inkling of racism? Yes. Do I believe that those (people) originating from such zones (as identified here) are without capability to possess traits seen within other humans? No. Genetics often leave innate tendencies (preferences, marks of personality--DNA code) within a state of hibernation, with chance that they are eventful within later off-spring.

IQ is bullshit. True intellect can be witnessed and attested to through ones ability to dissect, interpret, and synthesize relative concepts amongst one another.

But...I suppose you could conclude that, in the end, such distinctions in ethnicity result in a higher intelligence of a particular culture that remains within their base.
