Get this mouse, i have it, fucking BRILLIANT. Better than G5, copperhead and others, well i think anyway.
Take it back to the shop or ebay it and get a g5.scottomus0 wrote:
thanks for the comments guys. i think my dads already got me the copperhead tho lol
ah well.
Maybe too much is not a good thing. I have a G5 and it only has 1 thumb button. That's all I need. Too many other buttons would just get in the way. I don't need accidents to happen when I'm out in the battlefield. It's all preference.=OBS= EstebanRey wrote:
I simply don't understand why logitech (or copperhead for that matter) don't put more programmable buttons on their devices seeing as they are supposed to be for gaming!!!!

I never even thought of a better mouse pad. And that's a good point on the monitor (mines 26") I'll have to invest pretty soon!Boots wrote:
If you're going to get the G5 make sure you drop 30 bux on a good mousepad and teflon tape for the mouse feet... they go hand in hand. With a good mouse on a sh1tty pad you're only getting 2/3 of the mouses true potential.
Plus, with a big monitor like mine (Dell 2005fpw - 20.1" widescreen) when using the mouse for web/windows browsing it makes movements a lot less arduous.
Do you need to put anything on the feet? After all it has "Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) gaming feet provide the ultra-smooth glide you want in a gaming-grade mouse" or so they say, teflon is worse than ptfe is it not?Boots wrote:
I've heard the copperhead has a larger learning curve then the G5.
I have a G5 and I love it. The single thumb button is counter-balanced by the "tilt" on the mouse wheel... you can push it left/right with your index/middle fingers. I have one direction for TS/Ventrilo speak and the other direction for cockpit view.
I have the G5 coupled with Xtrac Eels teflon feet (makes it slide a lot easier, and protects the stock feet from wear down), and I also have an Icemat for a mouse pad. As compared to my old Ratpadz GS mouse pad it doesn't float as smoothly across, but its glass.. so it wont wear down as fast as my old ratpadz (wore down horribly after a year).

And the weight system is more like "set it and forget it", not something you really mess with. I don't really care for it that much... I prefer my mouse light so I only have a few weights in.
Cliffs: I'd go for the G5 with a good mouse pad and teflon tape for the mouse feet.

Previous to my G5 I had/have an MX510... it has similar feet on it, if not identical.... the only difference I can see is the surface area of feet on the G5 is a lot larger then that of the MX510. The Teflon Tape is a lot smoother then the feet and will protect the stock feet from wear and tear (the tape will wear down - not the feet).=OBS= EstebanRey wrote:
